Four guys, lots of noise. Playing together in several bands, they felt musically attracted to each other. Tom and Wim started experimenting with some ideas and ended up writing three songs. They combined their strengths with those of Dave Wyns and Herwig Sheck, for Tom’s final exam, which was a concert. The audience went wild and a new band was born. Inspired by their sound and lyrics, the guys came up with a temporary name, ‘Concrete’, which in time seemed to stick with the band. Sound engineer Peter De Wint immediately saw the potential of the rising band and proposed to record some songs in his studio. In between their other activities they recorded two of their songs in the summer of 2003, My Own Prison and Life’s A Bitch. They spent the winter writing new songs, and playing an occasional gig on local festivals and in clubs. In the spring, they just had to wait for enough spare time, ‘cause Concrete was ready to go back in the studio. The album was recorded in July 2004. Several gigs followed and in 2006, Concrete won the RedRock Rally in Bruges and made it to the final of the Maanrockrally which led to a spot on one of the Maanrock stages. The CD is completely finished. And now … ... Concrete is ready to kick some ass.
