KICKS and the City is an event that happens once a quarter. Its a combination of all the things that i love about the sneaker culture-individualism, creativity, hiphop, camaraderie, art, fashion, music, and diversity. Atlanta has been called the "music mecca of the south" but there's more to Atlanta than crunk music and freak-nic. There is another side of Atlanta outside of tall tees and big hats and it's starting to get some acknowledgement. There's nothing wrong with white tee's-that's apart of Atlanta too but Kicks and the City is about that other side that doesnt get that same attention. It's about those fashion forwards who arent afraid to go against the grain-the creative genius that dreams of having the world see their designs but doesnt have a big enough voice to be heard-it's about hiphop, pop, rock, soul, punk-those who love vintage and retro-individuals who dont quite fit into one crowd-nerds, geeks, misfits, outcast-and those looking for an alternative.
