T.I.T.A.N.S. is more than a catchy name for a group of musically inspired Canadian hip-hop artists. T.I.T.A.N.S. is a statement of Being, a statement of Hope, and a statement of Possibility. This statement is the inspiring force behind their music, just as it was the inspiring force that brought these individuals together tight-as-one state of mind.Since its inception in 1999, T.I.T.A.N.S. has been the positive energy force that has inspired these individuals and their music. This group gained form and substance in Vancouver, British Columbia, before coming from different regions of Canada including the prairie cities of Alberta and Toronto’s metropolis. The cultural and world influence of this group is as diverse as each individual’s personality which includes African, Jamaican, European and East-Indian culture. This all Canadian tandem of songwriters, recording artists, performers and producers consists of group members Jastique, Jake Tha Jewla, Staccato, Uway and RasDeville. They believe that they were not only brought together by their love of music, but also by their bond of “Tight-As-One†(TAO) meaning the act, the belief, and the result of complete physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual enlightenment, built on the principles of unity, trust, love and respect for one and all. This movement truly represents the depth of unity built upon real people and real connection. This is the vision shared by T.I.T.A.N.S. as it continues to inspire their music and minds alike.After the successful release of their promo album, Chapter 1: T.I.T.A.N.S., in 2005, and Best Original Song awarded at Vancouver’s Battle of the Bands in 2006, T.I.T.A.N.S. has gained the interest and respect of their audience and fellow artists. Already recognized for their powerful lyrics, they aspire to bring a fresh and strong face to the hip-hop scene coming out of Canada. Not afraid of a little controversy, the lyrics and music will challenge audiences with the multitude of personalities, dualities and paradoxes that face all human beings.
