Tampa, Florida - SoulTalk Host/Producer Deborah Hinds is pleased
to announce the forthcoming launch of a new website venture, PlanetSoul.com .
Created out of the need for a global portal for independent soul music
and her desire to promote a large number of talented artists simultaneously,
Deborah says PlanetSoul.com
will include a variety of artist features, the SoulTalk artist interview
show, Internet radio, worldwide event listings, and an online store
with PlanetSoul merchandise,
music, and more.
The official launch of PlanetSoul.com
is scheduled for January 1, 2007, with a launch concert featuring two leading independent
soul artists in South Florida on January 27, 2007.
Deborah explains her vision for PlanetSoul
in this way: "Since starting SoulTalk in 2005, I've become inundated
with interview requests from artists and folks suggesting artists. There's so much talent on the indie soul scene, that I quickly realized I needed to cast a wider net and create something that would allow me feature a larger number of artists and ultimately expand to include other music-related features. Craig Chapman at RHYTHMflow.net has given SoulTalk a home and supported the show since the beginning, but we both understand the need for me to expand, and PlanetSoul will allow me to do that."
She says that her experience at the First
Annual Soul Music Summit in Atlanta, Georgia in August demonstrated
the need for networking and partnering between supporters and promoters
of soul music, and the global love for soul music. "Terry (Bello) and
his team gave me a tremendous opportunity as both a panelist and moderator
at this year's Summit. Terry's vision for this annual conference has
led to great partnerships and friendships among those of us who promote
this music." Deborah adds, "One thing that was discussed at length at
the Summit was the love for this music around the world - from the United
States to Australia, and everywhere in between, people love these artists
and the music they bring to the world."
Deborah's experience at the Summit led her on a search for the perfect
domain name for her new venture, which will include contributions from
fellow independent soul promoters and partners Chai Footman ( Mocha
Soul Café radio show and website), Craig Chapman ( RHYTHMflow.net ),
and Terry Bello (GrooveNation.net, SoulSummitonline.com ,
and Soul
Lounge compilation series ). She says, "I wanted something that encompassed
the world, this music, and related art forms, and PlanetSoul
was at the top of my list. It obviously sounds global, the brand is
something you can feel and picture on merchandise, and it expresses
the reach of this music." She came up with the tagline, " PlanetSoul.com …Join
the movement" to symbolize both the movement of the earth and what is
known among independent artists and their supporters as the "Indie Soul
Movement."
