About Me
was born and raised in Southeast Missouri where he resides and works today. Although he is an Auto Mechanic by trade, he sings country music for a living. He has been performing for over 10 years professionally, from St. Louis to Dallas and everywhere in between. I know we will be hearing him for many years to come. In October 2006, CMG completed and began the promotion of his self-titled debut album. Soon after, Mr. Gray signed a deal with MMG Records International, and is now being promoted worldwide.
Quote: "When I first heard C. Michael Gray sing I knew he had talent. I felt all he needed to make it in the music business was a good song. He has found good songs now, which can be heard on his latest album. It's my opinion that every song found on this recording has hit potential. Not only are the songs well written and well produced, his voice and style of singing fits them. C. Michael Gray is a singer to watch in the future. With the talent he has, the only way for him to go is up." Mark Collier, Mgr. MMG Records International
In addition to the promotion and sales of his debut album, C. Michael Gray is proud to be a part of MMG Records' "A Bucketful of Rice Benefit Album" with his song "Angels in the Snow", a beautiful song written by talented songwriter Jeff Moxcey. Singing along side such stars as Mark Collier and Ronnie McDowell, with 100% of all cd sales going towards feeding starving children, it is a labor of love to be included in the album.
In 2001, C. Michael Gray founded MusicMaker Entertainment, where he ran Karaoke and Sound System for the past five years. In July of 2006, he sold the rights to MME to further pursue his career in country music. (Quote) "I needed to free up more time to work on my career, (laughs) but I still go out to karaoke for fun. It keeps my voice strong."
C. Michael Gray's musical influences include George Strait, (quotes) "He gives me hope for my career because he doesn't have to put on a big flashy show, jumping around with a lot of smoke & mirrors, and he is still the 1 Country Artist in the world." and the legendary Merle Haggard, "Growing up, I had motor oil in my blood and Merle Haggard tunes in my head. I was raised on him. The very first song I learned was ‘My House of Memories‘ by Merle Haggard."
"I hope to be singing for many years to come, and hope that the fans keep listening and enjoying my music." says CMG, "I love singing, because it brings everything into focus for me. I give credit to my father and my Uncle Pat for all they had done in helping me to find my gift in music, for everything from teaching me to play good ol' three chord country guitar, to singing Merle Haggard songs at all those late night jam sessions, when us kids were supposed to be in bed."
To date, C. Michael Gray is currently working on the production of his second album, and has planned a Christmas album to be released in Summer 2008. When he is not singing on stage, CMG is singing while he works on cars at his shop in rural Campbell.
