Uncle John Sawbriar

You can't kill the roots of a sawbriar!

About Me

Solo fingerstyle steel-string acoustic guitarist / composer. I play a variety of styles, ranging from intricate appalachian or celtic influenced pieces, to alternative sounding things that would be difficult to label.

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: How many selves can one have? It depends on what what I'm playing, I suppose...
Influences: John Fahey, Leo Kottke, Peter Lang, Jimmy Page, Jerry Garcia, Chet Atkins, Michael Hedges, Steve Howe, Steve Morse, Ian Anderson, Pete Townsend, David Gilmour, and Eric Johnson have all likely had some influence on my own style of playing and composing. I'm sure there's more, but I believe that covers the majority of those who've had the most impact on my music.
Sounds Like: My music is most often compared to that of Leo Kottke, John Fahey or Michael Hedges.
