..AMARU is a band formed by singer/songwriter Bobby Amaru. After recording countless songs on his own in a Jacksonville, Florida studio with his long-time friend Sam Rivers of Limp Bizkit, Bobby realized that he needed the right band members to help him spread the music. Amaru brought in Brad Stewart, formerly of Shinedown, to handle the bass guitar. Stewart has also co-written Puddle of Mudd's hit "Control", and Shinedown's Rock/Top 40 hit "I Dare You". "I Dare You" was covered by Chris Daughtry and aired nationally on "American Idol". They then recruited guitarist Stephen Carey of the Jacksonvilled-based band "Shadow Agency" to handle all of the guitars...and women! Their search for a drummer seemed to be the hardest part, but after countless auditions, local musician Jonathan Fowler turned out to be the perfect guy for the job. Only being a band for 5 months they competed to play mainstage for the annual planetfest show that is held in jacksonville every year. Out of 60 local bands Amaru was picked by the station to open the show in front of 10,000 people. They were also asked to join "The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus" for their april acoustic tour with no label support. Since then they have gained press, new fans, and the shows are getting larger. This is just the beginning for Amaru as they will continue recording new material with producer Stan Martell, and building the name in the south-east region. Florida's "On Location TV" has played an integral part as Executive Producer in the Amaru project and continues to support the Amaru movement. Amaru says, "I've always believed that if someone listens to your music and can immediately relate to what you're saying, you have made an impression that will stick with them!"" "
