Abba Zabba is a singer- songwriter from Trieste, in NorthEastern
Italy. He started singing when he was seven with the support of his
grandpa.
After a period with some local bands, he started again with a solo project. His
roots are mainly a lot of classic soul stuff and The Beatles. The "Abbey
Road" tape was the first album he bought in his life: the orange color of
the tape's booklet is still warm in his heart.
He composes songs to" exorcise demons" and to keep alive moments or
feelings of his life. He writes by instinct, pure magic, inspired by Tom
Waits, Tim Buckley and Devendra Banhart with a fixation for punk.
A very talented singer, his voice wraps you in a warm blanket in front of a
fire in the cold nights of the mountains, making you feel floating in a
dreaming atmosphere. “I learnt a lot by listening to and recording other people’s works†says the singer-sound engineer. “The music of the past is my starting point, but it needs to be filled with what present inspires.â€
Just like Trieste lays by the sea and it's surrounded by rocky forests and
caves, his music is open to new horizons and, at the same time, maintains
a strong sense of intimacy and discretion.
So far, he only realized one promo, but an E.P. and a full length record are on the way to
come out soon!
