Born in Caracas in 1974. Passionate about music since childhood, with tastes considered a little eclectic, ranging from Genesis to Murssogsky, and from the B-52’s to James Brown.
At the age of 14 he moved to Italy and encountered a reality a little less festive than his Caribbean roots were used to. Subsequently, he started to organise frequent parties, where music was the only priority, and volume was its constant companion, resulting in a high number of people, who were not normally used to dancing, leaving the party with aching legs and smiles from ear to ear.
In 1999 , after having organised lots of successful parties, he began to work in clubs, creating and consolidating many important night life engagements.
At the same time as his family’s relocation to Paris (European capital of reggae and point of reference for Black culture), Miguel was asked to join the most important Dj collective in the region: PAPASTUFF and from that moment on, having a public of thousands present, became normal.
Miguel lives between Italy and Paris, coming into contact with major artists from the hip hop, indie and reggae scenes of both countries. In Italy, Frankie Hi NRG , Africa Unite , Caparezza , Tormento, to name but a few ; in France, the leader of the gang, Joey Starr, for whom he worked for 4 consecutive years within his company Com-8.
He continued to Dj as part of Papastuff for 7 years, after which he decided to separate from the renowned Dj group, to continue solo.
Today Miguel Selekta is a selector with almost a decade of experience, competent and able, with the capacity to mix hip hop classics with the latest hits of the genre, passing through the contagious rhythms of dancehall, the queen of all his club nights, often allowing room for a touch of electro rock, creating a Dj-set as exceptionally varied as it is energetic.
