About Me

Kirk Ajani McDowell was born on the 3rd of September 1976 in Kingston Jamaica. From he was a kid he was fond of music, everyday as a child he would be beating empty paint pans and singing Bob marley songs. At the age of thirteen his father gave him the chance to learn to play the keyboard which became his first instrument. At the age of sixteen he met up with the singer Ashantiroy from the " Congos" and he became the keyboardplayer of his Jahpower Band. With the Jahpower Band Ajani got his first international experience as they went on tour with the Singer Ijahman Levi in November 1993. Since then Ajani fell in love with the life as a Musician and decided that this would be his life´s profession. In 2000 he Migrated to Germany where he founded with his drummer Granville Thomas, the Shashamani Band which has worked with various Artist such as Patrice, Max herre, Papa Curvin,Mantis,D´Flame, President Brown, Doniki,Terry Ganzie, Die fanta Vier, Caramelo Criminal,Samy deluxe,Dela Miles, Silly Walks to name a few. At the present moment Ajani is busy as a producer, Singer/songwriter,Musician and soundengineer. He is working on his debut album as well as producing for upcoming and very talented artists like Kaya, Anthony Locks and Roughhouse.
