About Me

'Cardiff based four-piece band Porchlight are setting new standards in the world of indie-rock. Forget the generic pap in the charts; these lads have, through a mutual love of cult bands like Pavement and Seafood spawned a new breed of ear massaging, soul caressing tunes. Up tempo, catchy and foot tappingly irresistible, this band will have a smile on your face and your hands in the air before you can say impress me, (conveniently the name of their forthcoming single). With vocal harmonies as soft and smooth as a babys you know what, solid bass lines and an abundance of glittering guitar hooks, Porchlight will infiltrate your soul and fill it with a bright yellow warmth. Go on, be impressed.' (Rachel England)
Sadly, after a year of much gigging, Porchlight have parted. There were many fun moments and some hard moments, but it was a brilliant experience. We enjoyed playing gigs and making our CD. We thank all of you who came to see us play and supported us. All of the members have moved on to pursue other musical paths and once things are properly up and running we shall let you know. Hopefully see all your smiling faces in a crowed soon.

Band Members:

Vox - Olly 'Slow Draw' McGraw

Harsh sentancing and a lack of 'stuff to do' saw Olly become deported at age 17. Travelling accross the western plains (otherwise known as Somerset Levels), he began rustling cattle and holding up stage coaches, without ever learning to shoot properly. Olly likes coffee... eugh.

Guitar - Richie the Kid

When leading his horse to water, Richie discovered he couldn't make it drink, upon testing the water himself he realised he had found the fountain of youth ...it's not all it's cracked up to be. Richie likes his tea milky, without sugar, and in great abundance.

Drums - Wild Will of the East

Will was born into a family of card hustlers, sneaking his way accross the border in his early years to pray upon the rich oil tycoons. Despite many claims otherwise, Will prefers his tea without sugar, with a dash of milk

Bass - Tony 'Pops' Baloney

After frequent raids by bandits on his home town as a nipper, Tony joined those migrating south, hanging up his weapon for many years before he was finally persueded to get back in the saddle.
