About the Band:
Stoke Screen are a Somerset based 4 piece, who right catchy, punky, rock music that take a comical stand into the music industry.
They first burst onto the music scene in the long hot summer of 2002, what started off as high hopes soon crumbled into a comedic heap on Richie's bedroom floor which made the band split acrimoniously.
In the press release the band cited musical differences for the reason behind the tradgic split but if you believe the tabloid rumours the differences went much deeper.
The reasons for the split ranged from, Richies obsession with perfection & his unprecented urge for success & stardom to Darren's paranoia about Chris' & Mark's beastiality obsession.
After 3 years in the musical wilderness Stoke Screen have surged back into the mainstream with a brand new hotly tipped EP.

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Darren Addy- Vocals.

Darren will be the first to admit he cannot sing to save his life but his charisma & the fact know one else wanted to sing is the reason that he feels he has to. Darren feels his voice is a gift which can sound like Kermit the frog one minute & Johnny Rotten the next. To be honest, it's just plain awful. Darren is approx 6'5 & forever growing. His favourite pastimes include looking like Eugene from Big Brother and failing his driving test which he is approaching double figures for!

Mark Jury - Bass.

Marks musical talent is somewhat limited and his bass guitar playing is rarely error free! His first choice instrument is the guitar but seeing as Chris is better at it than him he has been chucked onto bass, but if the band ever get a gig he plans to show his true worth to the band by performing a series of leg kicks similar to that of Nicky Wires, minus the short skirts and feather boa of course!

Richie Steadman - Drums.

Richard has recently taken time out from his more serious band Porchlight (www.myspace.com/porchlightuk) to help re-assemble the once unstopable Stoke Screen for a series of jamming sessions. He could be seen as the driving force behind Stoke Screen with his fast and accurate drumming beats and his unrivalled ability to come up with catchy tunes, his one downfall would seem to be that his little guns get a bit tired after hitting those drums for more than two minutes! He has high hopes for his music career and is slightly worried that his time with Stoke Screen could come back to haunt him once Porchlight hit the big time!

Chris Pike - Guitar.

Christopher is the sole guitarist with Stoke Screen. These days having one guitarist is a rarity, even bands like Green Day and the Manics have employed a second guitarist for their live shows, but not Stoke Screen, oh no Mr Pike needs no one else, no need! He achieves his 'full' sound by playing an Epiphone SG through a small Fender amp, but it sounds like a stack of Marshalls! Chris' favourite Passtime is probably waving his hands in the air in a very bizzare fashion whilst nodding his head which often leads the band into complete hysterics, it has to be seen to be believed!
Influences: Our favourite bands include: Manics, Muse, British Sea Power, The Libertines, Radiohead, The Smiths....and of course Porchlight
Sounds Like: GOD
