About Me

The hard rock band, Wheeliebar, was formed in January, 2001. In the four years together, Wheeliebar has opened for national acts: Incubus, Sevendust, Trapt, Papa Roach, Cypress Hill, Phantom Planet, Tantric, Custom, Local H, Smile Empty Soul, Silvertide, A New Revolution, DJ Hurricane (formerly with the Beastie Boys),D.R.I., Slaves On Dope, No Warning, Presence, Pigface, Bender, Animal (featuring former members of W.A.S.P. , Randy Piper and Chris Holmes), Index Case, and Perv 54. Wheeliebar's music is currently getting airplay nationally (49 stations- see list), leading to a debut at ..42 on the metal radio charts on Friday Morning Quarterback, and a tie for the fifth most added band in metal for the week of July12th, 2003. They have played shows nationwide including Nashville, New York City, Milwaukee, Madison, Chicago, Kansas City, Boston and were selected as a finalist in the 2004 Budweiser Milwaukee Battle of the Bands. Out of 10,000 CDs and 140,000 songs submitted from 85 different countries,"High Volume Therapeutic", Wheeliebar's debut CD was nominated for "Best Metal CD" and the song "Sick With It" was nominated for "Best Metal Song" in the 2004 Just Plain Folks International Independent Music Awards, held at the Galaxy Theater in Santa Ana, California. The music of Wheeliebar has also been featured in the documentary film, "The World's Best Prom" filmed by OVO out of New York City and it has been used as background music for an action computer video game as well. Wheeliebar's song "Sick With It" as well as other songs from the debut CD are featured in a motocross DVD by DirtTV out of Canada and a DVD by 346 Extremez from Wisconsin.Wheeliebar has taken full advantage of the internet, by selling CDs not only nationwide from New York to Pennsylvania to Texas to Oregon, but to as far away places as Germany, France, New Zealand, Iceland and the UK as well, building a fanbase worldwide. The Wheeliebar sound can be described as heavy metal with a very melodic twist. While the music is definitely of a heavier edge, it never strays too far as to not be radio friendly. The style appeals to a broad range of people which is why Wheeliebar has had so much success in the short period of time they have been together. Some of the band's influences are cited as Anthrax, Kiss, Run DMC, Black Sabbath, Husker Du, Devo, Living Colour, early Red Hot Hot Chili Peppers, Beastie Boys and Faith No More. In June, 2002, the band released it's first full-length CD, "High Volume Therapeutic". The CD has now sold thousands of copies worldwide. The second release, "Johnston's Theory" is available now online. The band hopes to follow up its debut CD with the same success on the new one by using many of the same marketing stradegies including touring nationwide, radio promotion, etc.
