FigmentuM is a beginning band with quite experienced musicians. Nearly all of us have been in bands earlier or fiddling around in front of orchestras. Yes, we love classical music. The great composers of old times and also the new (and still alive!) composers are one of our biggest influences. We're trying to make metal that takes the listener through different times and spaces. From the past to the future, from fantasy to reality and beyond.
The band is founded by Sam, who still is the one who does most of the composition and writing, together with the violin player Eric, who can also handle the electric guitar, or simply puts some distortion on his violin. Sam and Eric soon met Meense, a drummer who had previously played in various small black metal bands and thus puts in some of his own influences in our music. Jacobus, or - as we call him - Jack was acquainted to Meense and soon joined our band. Last but certainly not least, Arne joined in. And the instrumental metal band was complete. We're not quite sure if we want a singer, and if we do, what kind of singer. At the moment it's Eric who does the main melodies or Jack. We don't know about that yet. Maybe a male grunter or clean vocalist or a female one. It's constantly a point of discussion amongst us.
Well it's up to the visitor to just have a listen at our demo songs. We need to make much more and sure as hell finish "Far Away" soon!
