Erodead started out as a recording project between brothers Jake and Jocke. Some other musicians were occasionally involved but nothing serious came of that except a demo that the two brothers recorded as a duo. The project had a very low priority due to other things in the brother’s lives and the recording that started in summer 2003 wasn’t finished until early summer 2004. Another reason for this lame beginning was that the two didn’t live in the same city. Not much of energy were put in marketing the demo. Only one webzine has reviewed it thus far (Global Domination). But in the early 2005 Jake met two guys in Norrköping that seemed to be cool and metal and so on. Their names are Gadde (drums) and Vladi (guitar). The three of them started to rehearse the old songs just to see if there were any collaborative opportunities. After two rehearsals it felt really good and not much later the first gig was booked at Uppsala Blodbad. There were at this point two missing pieces that had to be fixed before the gig; more songs and a bass player. Jake contacted a friends from Västerås named Rogga and he wasn’t hard to persuade at all… and a couple of days before the first rehearsal together as a whole band two new songs were composed and after five rehearsals the band for the first time entered the stage in Uppsala. But surely not for the last time.
In June they recorded drums, guitars and bass on the two new tracks. The vocals and mixing were done in the first half of July and the result was a pretty big improvement and this time the demo is delivered to both labels and more magazines.
In the end of summer break 2005 Vladi surprisingly decides to leave the band. Since there was some guys who wanted us onstage during the autumn there was nothing else to do but immediately starting to announce for a new guitarist. After some serious search four of that kind was found and three were shortly after tried out. They were all good and cool guys but Henke seemed to fit in the band better, plain musically, and hopefully he will stay in the band not just for a while.
Rock’n’roll!
