About Me

Today, 8.4 million children are denied an education because they are forced to work as slaves.
Sign up and become an End Child Slavery Ambassador!
Our generation can End Child Slavery.
We are calling out to young people from all across Australia to lead the movement of End Child Slavery. We want all young leaders aged 15 to 26, who are passionate about speaking out and making a difference to sign up and become Ambassadors with the vision to end child slavery.
8.4 million children are modern-day slaves, denied freedom and an education. We are responsible for this injustice against children. Consumer choices about what we wear and eat keep children in an endless cycle of exploitation. But we can change all that! Become an Ambassador and lead our generation to start buying slave-free products. We are calling on the Government and corporations to ensure that children are in schools and not in slavery.

Make Poverty History

Why Are We Doing This? The MAKE POVERTY HISTORY campaign calls on the Government to honour its commitments to the Millennium Development Goals, an eight-point plan for ending global poverty. The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) are eight goals to be achieved by 2015 that respond to the world's main development challenges. The MDGs are drawn from the actions and targets contained in the Millennium Declaration that was adopted by 189 nations-and signed by 147 heads of state and governments during the UN Millennium Summit in September 2000.

Oaktree is Australia's first entirely youth-run aid and development organisation. We work in places like Africa, East Timor and the Philippines, and we are run entirely by volunteers under the age of 26. We ran the 2006 Make Poverty History Concert and the Make Poverty History Zero Seven Road Trip. Anyone can donate to our cause, and if you are under 26, you can join as a volunteer.
