Ethnica Music Project + MOX

The idea of this project came out in 2003 after the first spontaneous joint performance... The album started to be recorded later that year. NetLenka had some conceptual ideas about texts, MOX had some compositions, which pleaded for adding vocals to them. As the result, we have an mesmerizing, witching album, where the vocal and the background seem to reveal its own special harmony..., also due to talent and taste of Nick Artamonov (mixer reand co-producer), who found an peculiar balance. It was the one of his last works... NetLenka, using her outstanding voice, which reminds of ancient Slavic (and not only) singing, tell us the stories about mermaids. There are a lot of myths about mermaids in the ancient Russian history. According to a legend, all female dead born children, dead before christening and drowned girls become mermaids. They are eternally young and beautyful. When nature blossoms, they wander along shore of their rivers, find an sanctuary under an oak's crown, where they're sitting, spinning yarn.
