YOU ARE A DRUG FOR SOMEBODY

About Me

.. MOX was established in 1998. Actually, it is a reflection of all music I've heard in my life, but naturally is very special reflection. When you've heard a lot, it's like you never listened to a music. You can create whatever you want. That's why I involved myself to plenty of projects (MOX,QUTH, Tooth Kink, Poostosh, Titlo and more) - simply to release the inhibition of creating. Before MOX, there were some rock groups, where I played drums, but in 1998 electronic technologies captured me to give a birth to a such curious entity as MOX. The first track, which was honoured to appear in CD, was kinky "Bassett"- electronic lounge sketch (Tell Tschaikowski The News, Vol. 2, 2001, Exotica Lights). Then, the desire for releasing an album pointed me to find money (with a kind support of my friends) to issue the album "Insects"- 2002 on Exotica label (thanks to the head of the label - Andrey Borisov and fantastic soundengineer Nick Artamonov (deceased]. "Insects" - is a bizarre mixture of such styles as Warpwise electronica, dub, ambient, glitch, lounge, minimal, big -beat and sense of humour. Besides, that time I had another album ready - "Music For Healing The Gnomes" (sampled piano enchanted soundtrack for a mushroom fairy-tale), which is still unreleased. In the same year Poostosh was born. In 2003 there were some fantastic gigs in now closed club "MUHA" and the next album started to be created - "Sistrum" - more mellow continuation of the "story" of "...the Gnomes". Closer to the end of that year I began to collaborate with Netlenka in order to make an joint album "OMUT" , 2004 . 2004 - a start of the friendship with Cactvs Chris, which was the reason for the birth of the dark giant - QUTH and a bit later - the noize oik - Tooth Kink (the project with guys from Poostosh, 319 + famous Russian electronic composer Alexei Borisov). In 2005 I started to cooperate with Titlo . In 2006 me and my friend Russian-German poet Alexander Delphinov (my mate from Riddim Killers group, as well as my constant collaborator Sergey Karapetyan - recorded rhythm n'poetry album - MOX_DELPHINOV .The newest formations - industrial, noisecore FREAKING BOOK with Sergey Lobakhin (BRONXIT) and sparkling ambient electronica CODE NAME POLLEN with Bristol-based guitarist and ambient composer Rounik Sethi. What's on tap? New album with slightly deranged dubfunk. NOW I LIVE IN LONDON.MOX/QUTH. Mikhail Salnikov, Andrey Gavrilov (DPRSSN, Poostosh)) - 19.04.06 - "Zhivoy Ugolok". Moscow. Video support - Alexander Svinov.
