Fall down 6 times... get up 7.

About Me

An introduction is in order. My name is Eric S. Robertson, and I am just incredibly smart and hot. I understand the suffering of the really really good looking. I got out of the Army in November 2005 after over four years of mostly honorable service and I was briefly a pharmacy tech in a local drug store in the D/FW area. After that I lived, worked and attended school in Long Island, NY. Then I lived and worked in El Paso, TX, where I wanted to spend time with my son. But I was driven out by the law among other things, so I've returned to the Empire State.

I want now to make money and finish my associates degree. I've been to the sandbox, and all over Korea. I've seen and done a lot of pointless, fucked up shiite, and have proven over twenty five years to be too tough to die.
I am a Proud American (even better that I'm Texan)
I once owned several guns, but now I have none... the last one I had, the mighty and incomparable Roscoe, I gave to someone who needed him more than I. I plan on getting more, after I get the required NY permit. The fact that I need a permit is a big pile of bullshit.
I believe that fallen and wounded U.S. Veterans should be the most revered people to have ever lived.

I scored 84% Personal Liberty and 78% Economic Liberty!

I am a Left Libertarian!

A left libertarian believes in little to no government intervention on personal matters and little to moderate government intervention on economic matters. They generally believe in a government that is extremely small and limited to the extent of protecting people's liberty. They tend to be strongly opposed to war, police powers, victimless crimes, foreign intervention and what they consider to be a welfare state. They strongly support self-ownership and support property rights. They support capitalism as an economic system. Libertarian thought is individualist in nature.

My Interests

I'm into economics, politics, religion, finances and philosophy, and any other form of entertainment. If that sounds nerdy to you, I'd like to heartily invite you to blow it out your ass. If it sounds kickass to you... check out the following sites... (more to come)

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who's not stupid. If you know you're stupid, please stay away!

Movies:

others, in no particular order include:
Cinderella Man
Collateral
Man on Fire
Team America: World Police
Dodgeball
The Sixth Day
True Lies
Predator
Terminator 1-3
Anchorman: the Legend of Ron Burgandy
(OH MY F'N GAWD IT DIDN'T SUCK AWARDS: Stander starring Tom Jane)

Television:

I really like the new Terminator TV series and the original Law and Order. My gf and I also like to watch HBO series on DVD, like 6 feet under, and Curb Your Enthusiasm. Netflix kicks so much ass!We finished with Big Love and loved it. Hope they make more.

Books:

Anybody who wants to vote needs to read this book!
1. My favorite author is Terry Goodkind. I swear this man sold his soul to someone for the ability to write like a god. The Sword of Truth series includes Wizard's First Rule, Stone of Tears, Blood of the Fold, Temple of the Winds, Soul of the Fire, Faith of the Fallen, Pillars of Creation, Naked Empire, Chainfire, Phantom, and the finale Confessor, all of which I have read. I've also read a prequel called Debt of Bones. I love the Objectivist themes. Besides, Richard Rahl is the most badass character ever!
2. A distant second is Robert Heinlen, the author of such classics as Starship Troopers, Stranger in a Strange Land, The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, For Us, the Living, and Glory Road. I'm naming my next gun after Oscar from the latter.
3. In third is Vince Flynn, I've read Term Limits, Act of Treason, Memorial Day, and Consent to Kill. Mitch Rapp is the second most badass character in all of fiction.
Other worthwhile reads include... The Hunters Blades trilogy by R. A. Salvatore (The Thousand Orcs, The Lone Drow, The Two Swords)
for economics, Just about anything by Milton Friedman is good.
on the geopolitical front, America's Secret War is awesome,
and Plan of Attack by Bob Woodward is worth reading. If you like Jerry Bruckheimer films, I'd recommend you check out "Scarecrow", featured in one of the August 2005 blogs...

Heroes:

Ron Paul for Liberty...
Most of my other heroes are dead, like this guy...
or this one...

This one isn't.
I am absolutely in awe of Dick Cheney. He is like an evil god who walks amongst men. Who else do you know that can shoot a lawyer in the face without even getting sued? I mean, if you're going to be evil, you can only hope to be Dick Cheney evil.
