We will address and respond to each and every offer in a timely manner.True’s first introduction to hip hop was a relative, who use to DJ back in the day in Washington, D.C.
He was the first cat he ever heard spin a rap record and he was so inspired and instantly struck.
From there True started doing his own DJ’ing at parties. But his real desire was music and rapping which was soon about to explode.
True finally decided to start rapping with a group called “Bang Squad†back in 1995 they dropped a CD called “Bangin†which sold pretty well regionally
and also opened many opportunities for performing shows around the Central Valley and Bay are in California.A year later in 2002 True moved to Colorado where he hooked up with another artist that goes by the name of Fiasco.
He was into Mobb Deep and he also produced beats …This was something that True has been looking for and he wanted to hear more of it.
They hooked up with R&B singer Rudy Beamon and created Develop.Mental. They started to perform in Denver at an array of Hip Hop shows.
Develop.Mental hit the stage at U-Nite almost every Thursday night in 2003. They also performed many shows at the Soiled Dove and did a regional tour
with KOS Promotions. Sports Field Rocks, Whisky Bills, Cricket On The Hill, Cervantes, The Roxy, The Cube and a few warehouse shows downtown
made up the resume of Develop.Mental and in the end of 2003 we collaborated with Airtight a local artist and producer to release the Develop CD.The CD sold well, but more importantly started to get True known more around the region and the beginning of a following.
As many groups have internal problems that also occurred to Develop.Mental and caused them to split in early 2004.
True felt at this point that he gained more than enough knowledge to write and perform his own solo material
and approached the artist Scum and LSP productions to give him the solo opportunity he was looking for.Scum’s producing skills and writing ability helped assist True to breakout on his own and start performing as True Killah.
True moved to California for a couple of years and performed solo at many shows around the Central Valley, Fresno, Merced and Modesto area. True
worked and recorded a few tracks with a group called “ Cali-Ban and also did a Central Valley Collaboration with Destructo Bunny. Both CD’s have
recently been released. All this experience gave him the opportunity to create himself into the vision he has as a solo artist.
By this time True felt he was ready to return to Colorado to gain back the following he had but more importantly the respect as a Hip-Hop artist. True has
recently wrapped up the recording of his first long awaited solo CD and with an introduction to the name.TRUE recently signed a Exclusive Songwriting Agreement with the dBHeard Publishing Group!
“True The Donâ€, the CD entitled “ Hail To The Donâ€!!…. Not Only Street Records release date December 2007.True The Don is determined that he can overcome any obstacle presented to him.
He is a one of a kind, and if you are into extreme Hip-Hop with a lot of edge, he is someone you want to see perform live.
