One thing I feel I should mention: bands. For some strange reason, I get alot of add requests from different bands. I do have a very diverse taste in music ... but ... that does not mean that I like every single band that I hear. Therefore I will only accept add requests from bands with music that I like when I go to their page to listen to them, and I will listen to all the songs they have put up. Any band who wants to succeed should put up their very best material, right? If their "best" songs don't happen to move me, then I'm sorry but I will not add them. Not that I'm any sort of music critic or authority on what's good or bad, but I do have my own specific tastes, and I just can't advertise something that I don't personally like.
The same goes for those banners that I have placed below (btw, they're not really in any particular order, just arranged by banner size - I like to keep things somewhat organized). Sometimes I'll get people asking me to place their banners up, but I just don't always like their personal websites - lack of content, gimmicks like popup spam windows, money scams, etc. are a real turn-off. If I do choose to put their banner up on my page, it's because *I* happen to like their site. Some people may not, but my taste is my taste, your mileage may vary.
It's nothing personal, and I do wish everyone the very best of luck for success, but it's just a matter of principle.
