Cinema paradiso: Cinema is the place to be embraced by darkness, in a community with strangers. The silver screen fills the room with movements, beauty and sound. It's the place to give oneself to the big emotions; passion, sorrow, longing and happiness. If I don't cry or laugh during a movie, it's not a good one. I sit until the rolling title is finished, walking out with music in my ears. Hopefully, it's dark outside, and I'm together with a special friend who knows better than to ask about a superficial judgement, knowing that I'm in a different world, and that my life never will be quite the same again. // Lars von Trier, Kieslowski, Mike Leigh, Almodovar, Kaurismäki... Amélie, Breaking the Waves, Red, Blue, Veronica's two lives, What's eating Gilbert Grape, As good as it gets, The Hours, American Beauty, Happiness, Naked, Bella Martha, Aimée & Jaguar...
Radio days are hopefully not over, but I've got my telly back. Actually, the TV from my grandmother's. Swedish TV (SVT1 & SVT2) has saved me from many a lonely night with their excellent art and culture programs; not as commercial as the Norwegian state channel has evolved to be, although NRK are still good ...
