MY BIOGRAPHY

In the beginning the name of the band was Babylon (mostly covers), then it turned into Waiting Room (progressive rock) and it's in this period that came some of his best and bigger concerts. In 1982, turning away from the convoluted and complex compositions of Waiting Room and prefering a more visceral approach, he started on a new adventure with the dark gothic SF Project. The band had a promising start, had a devoted group of followers and gained some critical acclaim through some very intense performances; unfortunately it split after a few months due to internal tensions just when a record was in the works. All the while Gerry had anyway been writing songs of other kinds and had played on different kinds of gigs, either by himself or with other musicians, like the acoustic duo Vision (later 703), or the memorable performances of Coma, with songs full of nonsense, shocking lyrics and a somewhat theatrical approach.Partner in most of these projects was Raf Pulejo, a great singer and musician and a very old friend with whom he still collaborates. In 1983 he felt the "call" to become a Troubadour... suddenly stages became too small and meaningless, he needed a more direct contact with the people and the straight share of emotions and opinions. All of the music knowledge he had accumulated until then could finally run free on the road without having to bow to business, where a musician is kept on a leash and stripped of his soul to be used as an instrument, his ego pumped, and finally discarded.Besides most people don't get a chance to know real music because they are constantly fed with the commercial garbage that the music industry keeps churning out motivated only by profit. So there has to be an antidote, there has to be someone to show how great and soulful music can be; people who see playing in the streets as the biggest privilege a man can get; someone who's tirelessly rowing against the current and freely giving out music, just as people who listen are free to donate money to support him in this struggle without violence against the false values of a certain part of society.
