About Me

My name is Fiona McKinlay.
I write stuff. Once I wrote something and Midge Ure told somebody else that it was "genius". Another time, I got told that something I'd written was "the best thing I've read in ages", by someone who reads quite a lot. That was nice.
I take photos. Sometimes people say they're good too. I've uploaded some on here. And there's some more on my Flickr . Y'know. If you're bored.
I have two degrees. MA Hons English and Philosophy, and PgDip Software Technology For The Web. I currently work as an assistant web developer.
I love love love love love love love music.
I also love my family, chocolate raisins, Diet Coke/Pepsi, rollercoasters, valid XHTML code, Rock Band, Scrabble, sleeping, and standing right at the front at gigs with my camera like an overenthusiastic fan girl. I like seeing my reviews, interviews and photos in publications like Daily Record, Evening Times, Metro, NME, The Fly, News of the World, Drowned In Sound, Young Scot and Is This Music?. I also like visiting the zoo.
I don't like burgers or pizza or butter or margarine or regular shaped crisps or fancy lettuces (iceberg all the way!). Sometimes I'm confident and sometimes I'm shy. I check my emails and MySpace/Facebook quite obsessively on my phone. I make more sense typing than I do talking.
(This is a pic I took of Twin Atlantic. People seem to like it.)

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

My Chemical Romance, Bob Geldof

My Blog

This week has been a very good week

On Sunday, I was on mega-efficient chore duty, getting the house ready for Sam Isaac and his band coming to stay after their gig. My mum somehow found a random collection of airbeds in the garage. I s...
