Hi there! My name is Dale Rock and I am the Artist Relations contact for Full Sail Live.
We are presently looking for new bands to come in and perform in our Live Labs. For those who don’t know, we are a school located in Orlando, FL that offers AA and BS degrees in several different disciplines including an AA degree in Show Production and Touring. In this program students learn all aspects of live production, including set-up up and operation of audio, lighting and video for live events. Since we stress a hands on approach we need musicians to come in and perform up to a 50 minute set for student Live Labs.
In exchange for your talent we provide you with a DVD with the stereo mix from our broadcast room and a CD mix from our simulcast room before you leave the night of the lab. In addition you will also receive a DVD with mixed audio from the multi-track recording. These mixes occur at a later lab and are usually available a month after your live session. If you would like to receive the digital tracks to mix on your own they can be transferred to a DVD for you as .wav files. We do ask that you bring a blank DVD-R to the lab and let the instructor know that you would like the tracks. The requested tracks will be available approximately 6 to 8 weeks after the live session.
This is a great opportunity for you to obtain new demo material and to see what you look like on a big stage with full production! How can you get involved? All we need from you are two things, if you have never played here before we will need a 3 song demo of your group and a signed copy of our Artist Agreement for our records. The agreement is available via e-mail, just let us know you are interested and we will send it right out. This is a non-paying gig that is a trade, your talent and time for a free DVD mixed from a multi-track recording.
We are looking for all types of music from folk and country groups to string quartets and rock bands. We are trying to give our students the chance to work with as many genres of music as we can, so no one will be turned away. If you are interested in performing a Live Lab and would like to get on the e-mail scheduling list, please e-mail me back and send your 3 song demo to the address listed below. If you have a web site with media files that we can listen to just send the link back and we can use that for your demo.
