About Me

Guillaume Contré is a french composer of electro-acoustic music (also known as acousmatic music or - to be true to the begining - musique concrète). He as study composition in the conservatory of Perpignan (south of france), with the composer Denis Dufour (ex - member of the GRM).---- Since 2003, lots of his pieces have been played in various french contemporary music festivals like Syntax (Perpignan); Futura (Crest); GMVL (Lyon);Marseille; Paris, etc..... ---his pieces are mostly meant to be heard in concert on an acousmonium (orchestra of loud speakers) , but since his 2006 multimedia creation "L'homme qui est aimé de dieu", he also work with live instruments, comedian & video---- his compositional work focuses on an interaction between real acousmatic values of sound & the regular presence of instruments sounds (clearly recognisable or not). ---he his also an interpreter of acousmatic music & has an ever growing experience in leading the acousmonium, playing his own works sometimes, but mostly playing others works----he's a member of the MOTUS & FUTURA teams, two structures focusing on the diffusion of electro-acoustic & instrumental contemporary music, organising lots of events in france, but also in Japan, China or Belgium-----he is also member of the very active record label & musician collective RUDE AWAKENING PRESENTE; he plays in the minimalist improv trio SAP(e), wich has released two records, and under the banner RAYUELA, he creates a minimal techno spiced with found sounds & concrete weirdness.
