emeidos

emeidos is the solo sax and laptop sampling/processing project of Sydney saxophonist Ben Carey. He is currently based in Bordeaux, France, studying saxophone and contemporary chamber music with Marie-Bernadette Charrier.
Since 2006 Ben has in part steered himself away from strictly interpretive performance, experimenting with saxophone controlled feedback and developing live sampling techniques within the Ableton LIVE software program for use in solo and group improvised performance. His first public performance using these techniques was in November 2006, with the premiere of m18d06 a semi-improvised work for tenor saxophone feedback and delay automation.
