About Me

You Have Just Been Introduced To The CYPHA GOD...AUDIO AT WAXING LYRICAL

Yes people I go by the name of TenchoO da Assassin (AKA Audio). I started rhymin from when I was about 12, 13. At this time, I was going to school in Upper Norwood & spittin little story raps about classmates gettin jacked for their bus passes or mobiles on the way home lol...but it didn't take me long to develop a style which is based on my lyricism, multi-syllables, metaphors, wordplay & effort-driven flow. Since I moved to Portsmouth City, i've been appearing at open mic nights since 2003. I eventually linked up with a few cats at one of these nights & we all formed a crew called "Optikal Tricks" the same year. In that eventful year, I also emerged victorious in Portsmouth's first MC battle "The Hip Hopper's Ball 2003" & a year later, I went on to successfully defend my title at "The Hip Hopper's Ball 2004". Optikal Tricks then began recording tracks that year including a cameo appearance on the "Kids & Enemies Marvel Movements LP" (go to myspace.com/kidsenemies to check it out) & did numerous performances around Portsmouth at venues such as Wedgewood Rooms, Time & Envy, Tangerine Suite, EQ & The Registry. In late 2004, we hooked up with a collective of emcees/producers/DJs/graphic designers called Desperate Measures (DesMes) consisting of mans like Venom, Marvin Hagglar, Sense, Context, Fybe, Dj Skunkboy & many more heads. We then recorded a track for the "Desperate Measures Vol. 1" mixtape (Check http://www.ukhh.com/reviews/lp/1811.html for a review of the CD!) & subsequently proceeded to do several shows at venues around London such as both The Telegraph & Mass in Brixton & also a couple sets at some bars in Camden. Around this time, we also performed alongside crews like Phi-Life Cypher & Blind Alphabetz. In 2005, Optikal started recording an EP titled "The Mirage" which sold a few copies but the crew suddenly disbanded shortly after the CD was made as there were differences amongst the crew. Therefore the EP got shelved. I continued making tracks with Haji in 2006 & met a few new peeps through cyphers at a local emcee's yard, together we all formed "Diff'Rent Manaz". We hooked up & graced stages around Portsmouth at Black, Venus, Fawcett Inn, Havana Bar & Jongleurs doing shows alongside heads like L-Man, The IRS, Stylah & Skinnyman. In 2007, we also recorded the self-titled banger "Diff'Rent Manaz" for the South Coast Statements mixtape (check myspace.com/southcoaststatements to hear the tune!!). Unfortunately, for a second time, the crew ting didnt work out & we went our separate ways in early 2008. Since then however, i've been rolling solo. If you a producer/emcee/musician up for a collabo/cypher/whatever, get at me...but it's important you're serious about the music tho.peace
