WITHOUT THE FOREFATHERS, THERE WOULD BE NO HIP HOP, NO B-BOYS AND B-GIRLS, NO POPPIN, AND NO LOCKIN'....
Watch this excerpt from the most famous Lindy Hop/Jitterbug movie ever made, "Hellzapoppin'" from 1941. I have a true interest in this part of our (American) history because my grandparents, lindy hoppers to the core, always educated me on the TRUE origin of the lindy hop and jitterbuggin' and on the talent and skill that it takes to pull it off right...enjoy (IN MEMORY OF MY GRANDMOTHER)!

Thanx to BFN Afro Latino for this graphic
Attorney Ted Landsmark being attacked by Joseph Rakes (the white "gentleman" using the American flag as a weapon) at an anti-busing/anti integration of schools rally in Boston in the 1970s. The photographer for the Boston Herald-American, Stanley Foreman, won the Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Photography (spot News Photography) in 1977 for capturing this image.
I'd like to meet:

Music:
**Society of Soul was a group started by Sleepy Brown and Big Rube. With Sleepy at production and Rube writing lyrics, they decided to join up and released Brainchild.Coming out of the Atlanta hip-hop scene that also includes OutKast, Goodie Mob, and producers Organized Noize, Society of Soul is composed of singers Espraronza and Sleepy Brown (whose father was a member of Brick), plus Big Rube, producer Rico Wade, and Ray Murray. Strongly influenced by '70s funk, the group also combines elements of rap and gospel, the latter courtesy of Espraronza. The group's 1995 debut, Brainchild, was partially recorded at Curtis Mayfield's CurTom studios. ~ Steve Huey, All Music Guide****
