Sometimes I remember it one way, sometimes another... If I’m going to have a past, I prefer it to

About Me

'You are the thinking man and pranksters punk. You are what the ideal "punk as social rebel" is supposed to be. You see the capability for amazing art that punk contains just beneath the surface. You are America's favorite underground hero and your brains are what really scares the establishment. Just don't become too "more punk than thou," because then you just become the establishment that we've spent all this time fighting against and your rebellion goes up in smoke. You're too smart to let that happen. You're the real deal.'Apparently that's me if I was a punk. But I'm not a punk, nor do I particularly like the music - but still, it's a cool description, so I'm keeping it!Stuff I listened to last week:..This profile was edited with MySpace Profile Editor MySpace Profile Editor ..My great friend Drew (Viewtifuldrew) made this. Featuring the group of us who play regularly together. My girl is the black and blue robot - she rocks. Drew, this is just awesome. And he's gone and done it again! This just blows me away...

My Interests

While I'll declare aspirations of achieving greatness - whether it be through my job, pointless ramblings, or my website - I am, at heart, a hopeless geek. Happy with what I got, but content to vehemently complain about it all, I've been drifting through life for the last few years. However, while I'm not complaining or achieving anything, I've been known to spend much of my time with my books, my films, and my videogames, yet within these three fields I have a difficult time trying to conform with 'the masses' opinions. With books I tend to prefer my speculative fiction - something that plays with, and often breaks down, many barriers... so yes, that means all you buggers who rate The Da Vinci Code can bugger off. Film wise I enjoy something with plenty of strong characterisation, regardless of genre. For example: Crash (the more recent, racism-tackling one); Batman Begins; House of Flying Daggers. Recently I have become totally obsessed with Corpse Bride. Damn that film leaves me feeling so uplifted. With the videogame side of things, it'll be easier to list some favourites: Prince of Persia (all three of the newer series); Ninja Gaiden; Lumines; Street Fighter 3: Third Strike; King Of Fighters; Shadow of Colossus; Rez, Shenmue... I like my 'pure' experience. So yeah. ..

I'd like to meet:

Anyone interesting.

Movies:

How fuckin' sweet is Serenity? Damn, it's exactly what a sci-fi movie should be, and it still upsets me that the series preceding it (Firefly) was cancelled.

Heroes:

Batman, Geese Howard, Urien, Iori Yagami, Kyo Kusunagi, Chip-Zanuff, Ryu Hayabusa, Akira (of Virtua Fighter), King (of KOF, not Tekken), Venom, Akuma, Elena, Faust, Terry Bogard, Rock Howard, Maki, Freeman, Gato, The Joker. Man, I could go on. Who needs 'real' heroes, anyway? Oh, and a game with them all would be stunning.

Iron Man Review

Iron Man, whilst being an icon of Marvel and of comic book lore, is never a character you would rate alongside your Spider-Mans, your Batmans, or even your Incredible Hulks. He's not renowned for h...

Jumper Review

If a film has the audacity to call its audience a 'chump' within the opening five minutes, it's going to have a lot to live up to. Firstly it's going to have to fully emphasise exactly how and why you...

Cloverfield Review

You know, it's really not hard to compare this to the original Godzilla of 1954. I don't just mean that in the obvious way of a large creature causing devastation in a city, but in that C...

Ramblings.

I used to believe that a man was better off being an existentialist. I speak out of what I believe to be an impartial logic, here, and do not wish to offend anyone who thinks otherwise. To me, religio...

Bill Bailey, Memorabilia and Hangover.

What an absolutely cracking couple of days. Bill Bailey is a comic genius, and Friday's show was one of the most painful experiences I've had, in that way that only laughter can induce. The man was re...

I don't know either...

I look around me at the walls and bars: three immovable symbols of oppression, one giving me a view of countless replicas of my own interior. I look to my feet, unable to comprehend any longer what m...

Gutted! But happy, too.

Ah bloody hell, Truck 10 tickets sold out within a matter of minutes and I didn't even know they'd gone on sale. Guess that's my own fault for being lazy the last few years when Chris got the tic...

Ill and bored.

Crikey - it's been a fairly long time since I wrote one of these, so please excuse the diminished quality of my writing (if, infact, it ever did have any quality). So, anyway, I've come d...

Alton Towers.

After yesterdays visit to Alton Towers a couple of things strike me: First, I can't decide if it's me or the park itself. I mean, I've been there once per year for the last God-only-knows-how-many-yea...
