GROWING OLD IS MANDATORY, GROWING UP IS OPTIONAL!!!

About Me

I've always felt "different". I've lived in a lot of different places and sometimes for only a short time, so I had to learn to land on my feet. Because of that, although I make friends fast, I choose selectively, and almost always, for life. I laugh a lot and I think most of my friends would list my smile, laugh and sense of humor as my best assets. My sense of humor has often been what has carried me through the toughest times, kind of like a "MASH" thing. It most recently got me through divorce, the hardest time of my life. I'm still getting over that, but working on new things now and taking my life in new directions. I'm happy now and excited about what's going on.Click here to view my other space: :-)

Movies:

My favorite movie genre is horror. Some of my favorites in all genres are: The Shining, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Close Encounters, Glory, Shawshank Redemption, Stand by Me, The Thing, Christmas Story, Breaking Away, Andromeda Strain, & all movies by Finnish director Aki Kaurismäki.

Television:

About the only 2 shows I watch consistently are Monk and House, M.D. Most of the rest of the time, I'm watching movies or documentaries, especially science and history.

Books:

My favorite authors are Stephen King, Ramsey Campbell, Robin Cook and Dean Koontz. I like to read horror, biographies, history and science books. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Heroes:

At the moment: The Amish in Pennsylvania, with their reaction to the murder of their children in a one-room schoolhouse. They are demonstrating true faith, not the false "take over the world 'faith'" that so many others in the world are pursuing right now. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Also, my favorite (Finnish) director has refused to allow his new movie to be considered for an Oscar. Aki Kaurismäki said that he did not approve of his film "Lights in the Dusk" being entered in the Oscars competition. He said his decision was motivated by his opposition to the current US administration's foreign policy. click here Sorry to hear that he won't be competing, but proud of him for his stand. :-)~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
