Whatcha Gonna do About It !
Conceived in 2000 as a 22-string rock 'n roll onslaught, The Young American Livers soon learned the virtue of adaptability and the only-once-in-a-while-useful art of capitalization. After five of it's original members simultaneously and unexpectedly quit The Livers in late 2000, the band (it's one remainding member, at least) was forced to improvise.Desiring to practice new material for an up-coming show, but accepting the loss of his 5 former band-members, Pickett asked long-time collaborator and studio engineer, Diego Mayfield, to sit in on drums while he thought up ways to coerse the other guys back into the fold. What subsequently happened is the stuff of VH1's "Behind the Music". (ok, well, pre- "so that's when the drugs started to become a problem" Behind the Music).Chemistry is something that just cannot be practiced, and from that first practice on, it became evident that The Livers would no longer need more than two members.
