About Me

Well...where do we start?.....weeks alone on the snowy steppes of the Gobi Desert.....summertime blues on the red sands of the Mojave....."Red Clay" as performed by Freddie Hubbard--very fond of that one.....did I mention I once survived the Black Plague.....I could go on, but I'm boring us now.

My Interests

I'm sorry, it's hard for me to talk about that still.

I'd like to meet:

With the exception of your mom:...I suppose the first female Pope. Anyone with good street cred in Gary, Indiana. Anyone with no street cred outside Edmonton, Alberta. Prince (both during Purple Rain/Vanity 6 era, and also within the last couple years). Morris Day--any day of the week (sorry for the pun). Any variety of valiant Welsh heroes of old. All 116 beautiful Welsh women who ever lived. (I would write songs for each of them and we would take repose beneath mighty trees perched atop Mt. Snowdonia and we would drink the wine of lands we had never, and will not have ever journeyed to and they would read poetry to me and we would sing songs and play harps and other stringed inst---------zzzzzzzzzzz........

Music:

Bowie, The Stoogez/Iggy, "Beatles Stones Zep 'n Rex", MC5, Suede, Magnetic Fields (many more than sixty nine reasons to love them), Big Star/Chris Bell (poor little soul), Buzzcox,The Make Up (gospel, yeh yeh), The Kinks, Blonde Redhead (how can such silly accents sound so sincere?), Roxy Music/Eno, Small Faces/Faces, SFA, SIF, The Velvets/Lou, The Dolls, YAL, The Artist Currently Known as Prince, Tones on Tail, The Glove, Stephen Stills, Skin Job and the Replicants and ummm...that pretty much covers it. Let me know if I missed any that will make me sound cooler.

Movies:

Lawrence of Arabia, Spaghetti Westerns, Wes Anderson, Coen Bros., Blade Runner, LOTR, Kubrick, Lynch, you get the drill...

Television:

Telemundo, BET, and Laurence Welk...while drinking beers. I also have a daily personal challenge to, whilst channel surfing, make it at least once from channel 14 on through to 21--that's where the Spaniard channels are--without finding myself inadvertantly stopping to gawk at bosoms, a graphic news report or an 80's action film....

Books:

salingervonnegutorwellzamyatinoxfordpresstheonion

Heroes:

Anyone who's name starts with Chuck and ends with Norris!
