'Music gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, life to everything.' - Plato. Big radiohead fan. Going through a TRIP HOP phase. 'Planet earth is blue, and there's nothing i can do.' Like almost all genres except country...except KD lang who i do like. Is she really country? o yeah, also not really into hip hop. enjoying my chillout at the mo too, and dub.
'AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH' - essential viewing, recent faves: 'Last Train to Freo', (Hey, i like this quote (about the movie 'Shortbus'): '...new ways to reconcile questions of the mind, pleasures of the flesh and imperatives of the heart...') Love Woody Allen, ' I Heart Huckabees', 'How Much Do You Love Me', 'Babel', 'Being John Malkovich'...dying to see 'The Lives of Others'...
it's a secret, but i really get in to the 'lifestyle' channel, love nigella lawson....and certain dubious reality programs. SBS rules and some of ABC. Love 'The Chaser' - it should be govt funded, ie. it's essential to have watchdogs like these. i miss 'Love My Way' - i wonder if they'll make series 4? it made me feel like my life was normal, as messy as theirs!
Enjoyed 'Candy'. Love Milan Kundera. Just finished 'Norwegian Wood' - it broke my heart, so sad and so beautiful..."Death exists, not as the opposite but as a part of life...By living our lives, we nurture death...no truth can cure the sadness we feel from losing a loved one...all we can do is see that sadness through to the end and learn something from it, but what we learn will be no help in facing the next sadness that comes to us without warning..." (Murakami: Norwegian Wood). o yeah, love a good espionage too. New recommendation: 'HEAT' by George Monbiot - haven't finished it yet - essential reading on climate change. Am also getting in to reading about the Whitlam era.
