About Me

IF YOUR REQUEST IS OF A BUSINESS MATTER OR REQUEST FOR AN INTERVIEW,DJ SET,LIVE PERFORMACE ,EVENT APPEARANCE OR TO DISCUSS A MUSIC PRODUCTION/REMIX TO WHATEVER REQUIREMENTS PLEASE CHECK MY MUSIC ON HERE OR @ MYSPACE.COM/SLEAZESISTERSOFFICIAL.The Starlet DJs is Peter Martine of Sleazesisters fame. 1995 saw ‘Let’s Whip It Up’ get signed to dance imprint Pulse 8 Records. This became a worldwide dance hit which has led him on a successful career in dance music.Peter Martine is one of the hardest working DJs in the UK. He has appeared as a guest on Radio 1 on numerous occassions and has a CV second to none. He has appeared at some of the world’s best clubs such as Passion (UK), Universe (San Francisco), Pleasure Dome (Melbourne), Heaven (London). Under the Sleazesisters name, Peter was responsible for remixing some of the biggest names in pop music including Steps. Christina Aguilera, Geri Halliwell, Atomic Kitten and Samantha Mumba. At the end of 2004, he decided to revisit a track he previously produced called ‘Can’t Stop Dancing’ This was the launch of The Starlet DJs and the resulting tune proceeded to be played by Judge Jules on his massive Radio 1 show, an unbelievable 18 times not to mention loads of support from numerous other radio DJs. The track was huge in the clubs which led to Peter remixing the No.1 hit Meck "Thunder In My Heart", other recent remixes include Infernals’ "I Won’t Be Crying When I’m Lonely" and Billiams’ "Beautiful Ones" who are tipped to be the boy band of 2008. Pete also has forthcoming singles with Katrina (of the Waves), Norma Lewis, Viola Wills and Pimp and Jam.As a dj Pete has recently played gigs for Kissdafunk, Kinky Malinki, Love Zoo and the Paradise Factory. He djs regularly at Birminghams award winning night club The Nightingale. You will also catch him on the International club circuit especially Ibiza. That was a quick resume on Pete please carry on reading if you so desire. Also check out his dicography on the left.Pete Martine began his path into DJing at the age of thirteen, seamlessly mixing records long before many of today’s DJs had touched a set of decks. His first residency was at the infamous Part II club in Nottingham, voted Europe’s most prestigious club three years in a row. His blend of early 80’s Disco and Hi-NRG soon gave him a reputation as one of the UK’s leading Dance DJs. Customers and friends included the late Tony de Vit, who himself had recently embarked on a DJing career, playing a similar blend of tunes.Pete was headhunted to front what can best be described as the UK’s first super-club, the 2000 capacity Nottingham Astoria. Playing 6 hour sets on 4 decks to a buzzing audience most of whom had until then never experienced a mixed in set. Headlining at this venue led to Pete being asked to mix the top 20 album, ”“The Best of Hi-NRG, the first of his many chart credits.Pete moved on to become the resident DJ at Nottingham’s "The Club" which later became Venus. As always his trend-setting ways made him one of the first to play such Chicago house classics as, “Love Can’t Turn Around”, along with imported vocal house, truly the start of the UK’s most famous funky dance scene, with fellow DJ’s Graham Park and Alister Whitehead amongst the crowd. In a chance meeting with American chanteuse Vicki Shepard who’s US Number One “Somewhere” became a huge UK dance hit, prompted Pete to take his first steps into artist management and record production. He became known as “The Man With The Divas”, involving himself with Vicki, ex-weather girl Jeanie Tracy and Carol Leeming negotiating her deal which led to the worldwide hit “Joy”.Gaining his reputation within the industry he was approached by the then unknown Paul Masterson and the two were soon collaborating in the studio. Paul’s articulate technical skills married to Pete’s knowledge of cutting-edge dance music led to a catalogue of credible tunes. The duos chart hits include “Sex” featuring Vicki Shepard, and the notorious Ibiza anthem “Lets Whip It Up” (You Go Girl). This became a worldwide dance best-seller, featuring on eight Ibiza compilations including Brandon Block and Alex P’s Clockwork Orange, and to this day remains a club classic. The guys then followed their success with another worldwide chart topper “Work It Up and Wear It Out” with BMG Records, which led to Peter touring Australia and the USA.Paul moved on to become Yomanda, whilst Peter continued as “The Sleazesisters”, now with fellow DJ and London’s Heaven resident Porl Young. A string of world-wide chart remixes and productions followed, including such massive tunes as Samantha Mumba’s “Gotta Tell U”, Steps’ “Deeper Shade of Blue” and Anastacia’s “I’m Outta Love” turning commercial chart records into storming dance-floor anthems. On many occasions their mixes are preferred to the original versions and are performed at many of the artist’s live concert dates.Peter has never turned his back ..ting edge dance and has recently astounded the clubbing fraternity under the cool and credible title "The Starlet DJs". His massive funky house club hit "Can’t Stop Dancin" has received a staggering fourteen plays from Radio Ones’ Judge Jules as well as plays from Pete Tong and Dave Pearce alongside countless other radio shows. The Starlet DJs have also been busy on the remix front with their biggest to date on the massive hit single Meck’s "Thunder In My Heart". a National Number One Hit, Nmber One on Cool Cuts and Pete Tong’s Essential New Tune. Remix requests are coming from all corners of the globe and. 2007 looks really promising getting off to a great start with the Starlet DJs versus Sweet Feet Music "God Is Trying To Tell You Something" storming dance floors on both sides of the Atlantic. Sleazesisters’ are making a comeback too. The remix of Infernal’s single "I Won’t Be Crying When I’m Lonely" and Scoochs’ Eurovision Entry ’’Flying The Flag’’ have recently been compared with some of Pete’s finest work along with a remix for sensational new boy band ‘Billiam’ who scored a September top 40 hit with “Beautiful Ones”. Pete has now teamed up with fellow producer J.Saint James the first collaboration being the new Starlet Djs’ single ’Happy’ and two tracks with disco legend ’Viola Wills’ called ’’Feel You Feelin Me’’ and ’’Let Me Rock Your Soul’’. ‘Norma Lewis’ features on a storming U.S. house track “Lock The Door”. Also watch out for a brand new production for Katrina (of The Waves). Her new single “They Don’t Know” will be released in Summer 2008.Also recently released is the Sleazesisters album "Revolution". Based on the ever popular mixed dance night Revolution which Pete started at The Astoria Nottingham in 1984 and is still running strong, having recently launched in Leicester and Birmingham with a view to tour Worldwide. Pete’s continued love of live performances still sees him DJing and PAing at various locations. He has graced the stage and decks at numerous BBC Radio One Dance Parties, Mardi Gras events, along with international appearances in the USA, Dubai, the Far East, Australia and regular invitations to headline major events in the club Mecca, Ibiza. He recently returned to his roots playing vocal house and chunky funky big room tunes at the celebrated super-club LoveZoo where he has been welcomed back frequently. Recent guest DJ appearances have included Kissdafunk alongside Rob Tissera, The Sugarhouse Lancaster with Judge Jules, Kinky Malinki and Feel at The Emporium home of Passion alongside Jeremy Healy and Allister Whitehead. He is also a resident at House Of Music at the Nightingale Club in Birmingham.Mainstream appearances include being a guest on Fergie’s BBC Radio One show twice, along with regular contributions to “Pete Tong’s Usual Suspects” and also a touch of festival reporting for “Dave Pearce’s Dance Anthems”. He has also been a guest on Radio internationally on a regular basis. including guest hour mixes for Vibe FM and Gaydar.Time off isn’t a mantra that Pete subscribes to; you’re more likely to find him with show-biz friends. On occasions Pete will turn up to see fellow DJ friends Judge Jules, Dave Pearce, Boy George and his long time idol Roger Sanchez. You may also find him propping up the bar at his favourite haunt, Café Mambo, with a bottle of champagne and more Ice than P Diddy.Pete is one of the most complete packages out there, combining Performance (on many of his tracks), Remixing, Production, Presenting (he KNOWS how to use a microphone!) and without a doubt one of the most respected, loved and demanded international DJs on offer. You can’t fail to realise when this star has arrived….Roll out the red carpet and pop those corks. You Go Girl!!!!!!!
