Marcelo Cordova

Marcelo Cordova was born in Chile in 1973 and started to play bass at the age of 18. Soon he was playing in several local groups. In 2000 he played with Alex Acuna in a concert with Emilio Garcia (guitar) and started his collaboration with Emilio. In 2002 he recorded "Ultrablues" (nominated best jazz fusion album in Chile) in 2002. He has also played and recorded with Francesca Ancarola, Antonio Restucci, Magdalena Matthey, Irazu Big band, Elisabeth Morris and Amadito Valdes. In 2002 he decided to move to France to study double bass. He now lives in Paris where he plays with various groups in different styles: jazz, African, Latin, Fusion, Classical, Manouche, Flamenco, Baroque. In France he has played with Gianni Guido Trio, Mario Canonge, Muntu Valdo, Alvaro Bello, Irving Acao, Lukmil Perez Colectivo, Edouardo BB, Mademoiselle de Bucarest, Adriana Solo, Marcia Maria, Orchestre de la Cité Universitaire and Orchestre de Paris-Sorbonne. He is always learning and seeking new musical horizons; now he is also learning to play the viola da gamba and studying the music of Marin Marais.
