Self-tough by many years, he moved to Santiago de Chile and further, in 1991, he attended Musicians Institute in Los Angeles, U.S.A., recieving lessons from great and renowned guitar players, like Scott Henderson, Joe Diorio, Art Renshaw, Dan Gilbert and Mike Miller. After graduating, Jorge has been living in Chile, Argentina and U.S.A., and playing in many different situations, and “sliding” from Jazz to Rock, Blues, R&B and Fusion, with “World Class” musicians.Jorge is very well known as a teacher and counselor in several institutions in Chile and U.S.A. , and now a days he is the Head Teacher of the Guitar Department at Projazz (www.projazz.cl) in Santiago de Chile. As a soloist, Jorge recently released his first solo album, ATACAMA, a totally “electric-jazz rock” oriented work, and now he is preparing his second solo album, called SHAMBALLAH EXPRESS. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::The world famous........ ***PEREZBAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!***:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: :: :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: ::::::::::::::::: :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: ::::::::::::::::: :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: ::::::::::::::::: este video es divertido...mis amigos felipe y jose grabaron este pedacito (de video, digo) en el Backstage Drumfest el año pasado. Influences: PARAMAHANSA YOGANANDA ...that`s one of my main inf. But I don`t want to be unfair. First inf: My Mom, Ana Maria. yeah.. she used to listen great music, so since I was very very small The Beatles, Yes , Led Zep, Deep Purple, even Black Sabbath. ...pretty cool to be a Mom, right? Anyway, she had Yes...oh, I mentioned it already....and of course Rick Wakeman. I remember having great sesions with her watching the summer sunsets in Antofagasta, listening to Nova (vimana), Jan Hammer (first seven days) and Mahavishnu Orchestra. Vangelis (earth) also. Then, my grandfather, Ruben. A lot of Jazz and classical. A lot and almost every day at launch. Was so great. Very energic!!! Manuel de Falla......The Ritual Dance of Fire....I always started to jump all over de living room, jajaja. Then was all that jazz stuff....blows my mind when I think about it. He had Miles, Coltrane, Parker and older stuff. Very funny albums, like Cole Porter and Pee Wee Hunt, The Harmonicats, etc etc etc. Then the good `ol Ludwig V. Beethoven, Mozart and all those classical albums he had carefully stored. He kicked all asses of the Universe!!! Without him, I wouldn`t be here or anywhere. Thanks Ruben!!!!And then, came my great crazy incredible man-of-knowledge uncle Hugo. ......next, I`ll keep writing this story, that`s all by now folks. Have a great Xmas and a Greaty f*** 2008. Love to everyone in the oneness. 28 - 12 - 2007 Hugo is incredible…...at that time he was studing at the university. I read excerpts from the Bhagavad Gita and many literature with him,..I was around 11, and, under his influence, I secretly started to play guitar. I was 13 at that time. A lot of Hendrix, Genesis, Gentle Giant, Yes, Zep, etc, etc. . Then I remember the day he bought this Jean Luc Ponty album: Mistical Adventures: Awesome!!. He also had, La maquina de hacer pajaros!!!!, and then, he started to get a lot of albums ….he had EVERYTHING!!!!…and again I was very lucky, `couse I could listen all that material with him. First time he told me about the Way of Knowledge…..and a lot of progressive and jazz…music, music, music, Seru Giran, Queen, Grand Funk, Jean Michel Jarre, Jon & Vangelis, even Silvio Rodriguez. jajaja. Oh, Ravi Shankar and Shakti. On parallel to that, I started my devotion for my favorite rock band ever....a big fan since I was 10: KISS. I always wanted to be Ace Frehley. So, in the mean time I was getting all those records from Jazz and Fusion from the 70´s and 80´s, I always listened to Kiss. I even painted my face like Ace when I was alone, jajaja, and played my acustic guitar al the time....and sometimes I used my tenis raquet like Ace´s guitar....(imagination does funny things). At that time, we were listening Disco stuff, but never took my atention. That happened years before. Anyway, my uncle Hugo was- and still is – such an influence. Then, I have to tell you guys about Manuel Hip. ……but I`ll need a lot of time to order my ideas. See you soon
Sounds Like: ME....I hope
