About Me
Robin Abeles is an accomplished Musician/Bassist/Producer who's musical career dates back to his Jamacian Reggae Dub studies with Leroy Horsemouth Wallace in Kitson Town, Jamacia and Record Engineering and Production with Scott Jarrett.
***Performing and Recording with Robert Mirabal from 2000-present day, recording, producing, and playing on over 25 released projects, from The Rare Tribal Mob to Jenny Bird and Joaquin Gallegos, The Unknown, Standing Wave, The Creation Band and the B-Section.

His Jazz experience began with his studies at the Bass Collective in New York City and has since been honored to play with Paul Fowler, JQ Whitcomb and Woody Rubin of Trio Bombo, Frank Morgan, Antonio Restucci, Chris Calloway, Larry Mitchell, Jet Pack Rental, The UNM Big Band, The Albuquerque Jazz Orchestra, Madi Soto, Cathy McGill, Stu MacAskie, Terry Browning Shelly Morningsong, Collin Winter, Omar Rane, Mary Brushini, Sol Fire, Tommy Gearheart, Ramond Blanche, The Rhythm Section, Phil Arnold and Phunk, Zack Nielson, The B Section, Felipe Ruibal, The Sean Healan Band, and Michael Cello Kott.
*** In 2004, Robin began a sabbatical from the popular music industry to return to school full time and study classical music performance on the double bass with Santa Fe Opera and New Mexico Symphony Orchestra bassist Maestro Mark Tatum at the University of New Mexico.
***Since that time Robin has served as Assistant Principal of the UNM Symphony Orchestra and has performed with The New Mexico Symphony Orchestra, Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra, The Santa Fe Opera Youth Outreach Orchestra, The Opera Festivals and Lyric Academies of Rome and Viterbo, Italy, Symphony Orchestra Academy of the Pacific, The Abe Frank Quartet, Roswell Symphony Orchestra, San Juan Symphony, La Sinfonia de La Concepción, Chile, and La Orquesta Clásica del Teatro Oriente, Santiago, Chile. *** Robin has performed as Soloist with the Strings of Thieves String Ensemble for his Junior Recital, and has also given solo recitals in Alessandria, Italy, and Santiago, Chile.
*** In February of 2008, Robin arrived in Santiago, Chile in order to studying with Maestro Elian Ortiz Cárdenas***Robin will be attending the Brevard Music Festival this summer and look for him on tour with Rajim Alhaj in the coming year.
