My various bands and projects

About Me

It's still me UglyDucky (you can also find me at http://www.myspace.com/dinomifsudlepre) but here basically i'm going to try and put some info on my past and present bands... starting from 14-15 years ago when i started playing with my first band Victims of Creation. You'll find info and other stuff i will find appropriate to add regarding bands and projects i was or still am involved in such as Horridal, Lithomancy, Tree, Weeping Silence (when i was part of the band), Wound, The I SKAndal, The Vegetables, Xtruppaw and Deluge of Sorrow.I was brought up listening to my dad playing tunes on his guitar from bands such as Rolling Stones, The Police, The Shadows and The Animals. He was also part of a band long time ago called The Lost Souls. My youngest uncle Alex influenced me alot too, introducing me to bands such as Black Sabbath, The Police, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Rush, Iron Maiden, Kiss, Saxon, Motorhead and Pink Floyd. He used to play drums in a few bands in the 80s. Mum has always been into art in general... she used to paint, play piano and was also into photography. She's presently into pottery. No wonder i adore art that much and love music especially :P If it was possible i would eat and breathe music! I can't immagine myself without music in my life and without playing... that's why i have always been involved in so many bands. Music is my life... without it i can easily not exist! It would have been better if the week was longer just for the sake to experiment with other bands and styles.Like many people, my tastes have varied through time but i have never neglected the first bands i was into. I'm very open minded and i can listen to anything which is considered as music. I listen to anything which could be considered as music and i would never stop to name the bands i like... However i listen to Raggae, Ska, Dub, Rock, Metal in general but especially Doom-metal and Doom/Death, Post-rock, some Trip-Hop (only when it's not mainstream), some Indie, some Punk... heh anything goes since i find it interesting.I must admit i'm not really a 'fan' of electronic music and technology in music... there's nothing better than true raw music for me, whatever the genre is... but there are some exceptions ofcourse...However, since i listen to practically anything, i have been hooked up lately on what is considered as post-rock and some trip-hop... never the mainstream stuff. Could be that i was fascinated with the melancholic tunes and atmosphere which these genres can offer, same reason why i consider Doom-metal and Doom/Death the family i am part of first of all! But also another reason could be that although they're quite easy-listening to the general public's ear, i consider these genres to be strictly underground and true.Indeed... i dig raggae, ska, post-rock, trip-hop, tribal and some ethnic music but if i have to choose which sect i am part of, i would definately say that underground especially when it regards metal, is the place for me. I have passed through the Thrash era and was totally into Death-metal (the old-school one especially... well i still am into a few bands after all :P) and some Death/grind but again, Doom-metal and Doom/Death is definately my home!I consider myself much more as a hippy... the way i think in general it is. I love nature, animals and try to live a peaceful life. I make friends easily with everyone and try to help anyone in need. Some say i'm afterall also abit of a punk in character too since i always try to enjoy life as much as possible and live the moment... wouldn't know if that's the definition of a punk afterall since i don't really consider myself as one, mostly because there are very few punk bands i listen to and definately i don't look like one :P However all i can say is that since i joined The I SKAndal and Xtruppaw was also created (The I SKAndal is more ska rather than punk and Xtruppaw is not really punk either) i became part also of the local punk scene and i felt really comfortable and accepted. I felt like rejuvinated, since i felt the vibe and atmosphere (especially during gigs) i used to feel during metal gigs in the 90s which i felt much more part of. You know... beer, whiskey and fun! Everyone helping each other and everyone supporting each other! Nothing against the present underground metal scene... could be just that people have changed or well, i might have changed without noticing... however, my opinion is that i have never changed throughout all these years and i needed to be introduced in such a scene. A witness of me not changing could be the attitude of my band Xtruppaw... we're like teenagers of 30 years old :P We have never changed in character since we started off with our first band Victims of Creation... 'cause yes, the same members i started playing music with in Victims of Creation are the same buddies i have in Xtruppaw... those people i consider throughly as my brothers! So in conclusion i must say that after all there isn't much difference between metal-heads and punks here in Malta atleast... well that's my opinion... You find cool people and dick-heads on both sides... just take your pick... we're all humans after all.Anyway, anyone interested to be added in this space you're welcome. Hope you'll find this humble space of mine interesting... Keep true and keep real... Peace & Tranquility to you all!"; I edited my profile at Freeweblayouts.net , check out these Myspace Layouts!
