Cuatro X

Cuatro X is a melodic thrash metal band from Hamm near Dortmund in Germany. Thorsten Grams, Stephan Hausberg, Marco Schuster and Tobias Breer initiated the band in 1998. The band started to cover songs from "Metallica" just to have some fun. But soon they created some own songs. "Buried", "Forever", "Platonic Shadow" and the fast "Ascetic Illusion" were born.
Cuatro X are musically inspired by bands like "Metallica","In Flames", "Machine Head", "Massacre", "Hatebreed" and "Caliban".

The first DEMO-CD was released in august 1998 and titled "X". It was
recorded in two days and included the first four songs.
In october 1998 "Cuatro X" won the COMPETITION OF YOUNG TALAENT 1998 in Hamm and beated seven other bands.
After a short while, Oliver Prill joined to play the second guitar for a
Staighter sound. Cuatro X were playing some gigs to accumulate experience.
The second DEMO-CD called "At Nightfall" was released in the year 2000. We took more time to work out the new songs. We recorded the CD from march until may 2000. The following songs were the result:

"At Nightfall" got some good reviews in internet fanzines and magazines like "Eternity", "Heavy oder was!?", "Metal Heart" and "Legacy".
In january 2002, Marco Schuster left the band.
From july until october 2002, Cuatro X went to the Ragers Elite
studio and record the new material in cooperation with Alexander Cwirtnia (Delirious). Stefan Heeke (Osyris) played the bass tracks. The material was mastered at the Gernhart Studio by Kai Kneutgen. The release day of the new and third DEMO-CD called "The Last Days" was
december the 30th 2002.
Michael Smykalla (bass) joined the band.
Tobias Breer (drums) left the band.
Sascha Winterink (drums) joined the band.
Cuatro X sign a deal at TTS-Media-Music.
From march until april 2004, Cuatro X went to the tts-media-music-studio to record the debut album 'hatefront' in cooperation with jörg friede and torsten wördemann.
