About Me

I heard Darren Hayes was on myspace so I had to join. I'm basically here to keep up with my favourite bands and authors, gig dates and album releases etc. My myspace ID is pandaeyeze, pandaeyes was taken and I wasn't in a creative mood, it's meant to read eyes not easy! Just thought I'd clarify that after some of the friend requests I've had, phew!"

My Interests

Music, I find it not only enjoyable but therapeutic, going to pubs and bars, reading, films, eating out and going to concerts. I also listen to the radio, usually Scott Mills on Radio 1. I'm not a big fan of shopping but the only exception is Jane Norman, I love that place! Oh and food shopping of course.

I'd like to meet:

Anyone really. If I like your music or I enjoy what you're writing, then I'll add you. Darren fans are always welcome.

Music:

Darren Hayes, the man's a genius, everything he does just seems to work. In a field which is more driven by business than music, he has been brave in staying true to what he does, constantly evolving and taking risks, surprising us by getting even better when it seemed he had already been the best. Powerful lyrics, great melodies and a lovely guy with the best live voice I've heard to date, it's so nice to be a fan of an artist who I don't just admire but am also immensely proud of for everything he has done musically and everything he has overcome personally too. I would strongly recommend his very underrated album 'The Tension and the Spark' and check out the new video (right) from his new album 'This Delicate Thing We've Made' which is the best record I've heard for years (possibly the best ever). Savage Garden (Darren's hugely successful band before he went solo) was where he started off and their music was great. I'm obsessed with The Killers at the moment. In general I like the odd song by most artists and bands. Michael Jackson's Thriller is my favourite album, Darren Hayes is by far my favourite artist and I think U2 are fantastic. I managed to see Take That at the o2 arena which was fantastic and I saw Robbie Williams at Knebworth a few years back which has to be one of the best live shows I've ever seen. I try to go to all of Darren's shows in London and I haven't been disappointed once.

Movies:

Dirty Dancing (nobody puts baby in the corner!), Love Actually, Fight Club, Crash, Se7en, and anything with Will Smith or Kevin Spacey in it and also classic chick flicks like My Best Friend's Wedding and Bridget Jones' Diary. A real mixbag. And I think Edward Norton's a brilliant actor.

Television:

Eastenders, 24, Holby City, Gavin & Stacey, Big Brother (the shame!) The Simpsons, The Wright Stuff and The Friday Night Project but definitely no makeover programmes, homes or people. I think Jonathan Ross is the funniest man on TV.

Books:

Anything by Scott Mebus, Serena Mackesy, Patricia Cornwell, Lisa Gardner, Meg Gardiner, Lynda La Plante, Liz Young, Jessica Adams, Jenny Colgan, Sarah Mason, Anna Maxted, Meg Gardiner, Meg Cabot, Fiona Walker and the 2 Bridget Jones books by Helen Fielding. Piers Morgan's diaries are hilarious. I'm also a Harry Potter fan. My all time favourite book is 'To Kill A Mockingbird' by Harper Lee.

Heroes:

Musically, my hero is of course Darren Hayes. But the person I admire most is my aunt, she died of cancer in April 2006. The strength she showed throughout her fight against her illness was hugely inspiring to everyone who knew her.
