Joe Boogie (AKA Joe Simmons) is one of the hardest working keyboardists in the music industry.Drawn to the wealth of expertise, experience, and artistry of the many legendary keyboard players of Memphis, Joe began experimenting with diverse musical styles and textures and has become one of the most sought after players. A versatile musician, Joe Boogie has gained great proficiency in Alt. Country, Blues, Funk/Jam Band, R & B, Rockabilly, and Rock and Roll . He has worked clubs, casinos, stadium concert venues, album dates, and TV;Check out appearance w/Debra Colman (Blues Divas) on Starz InBlack. He has toured the U.S. and Europe with blues icons Little Milton and Bobby Blue Bland and rockabilly veteran Billy Lee Riley, Legendary Southern Rocker Jim Dandy,Country Singer Jake Owen, and has been nominated twice for the local chapter of N.A.R.A.S. Premier Player Award. He is proud to count three-time Grammy nominee, Preston Shannon, among the friends and artists with which he has toured. He is currently playing with Deep South, MoBoogie, Corey Osbourne Band, and his talent has been duly noted by none other than B.B. King.
Joe Boogie has a unique, personal sound which can be attributed to the use of vintage keyboards such as the Fender Rhodes, the Wurlitzer electric piano, the Hohner Clavinet, and his main instrument: the indispensable Hammond B-3. Memphis has long been known to provide the world with musical legends, and Joe Boogie is well on his way to becoming one in his own right.
