About Me

Somewhere out there, there's someone or someone who knows someone who knows exactly what to do with my catalog. Is It You???? Here is my story!! I was born and raised in Burwell, Cambridgeshire, in the East of England on Halloween of 1963. I came over to the USA in 1985 as lead singer/songwriter for the band "Sancho Panzer". We toured up and down the east for 18 months or so, ending up in Providence RI where it all came to an untimely, sticky end! (As bands often do). Unperturbed, I moved back to upstate NY to marry my sweetheart and continued writing songs and performing in various bands, dabbling in rock, classic rock, reggae and pop. I then met up with Traditional Irish musician 'Pat Kane' and joined his band "West o'Clare". After hundreds of gigs in the US, 2 tours of Ireland and 5 albums later, I decided it was time to move on and get back to the business of my own music. In 1996 I recorded my first Album "Rhythm of the Universe" and followed that with a 3 song EP "Moonchild EP" that I'd recorded with Pat and West o'Clare. In 2001 I began work on my 2nd full length solo release " Fathers & Sons" and also recorded my Christmas song "Let it snow God's Love" along with a couple of songs from F&S's as a 3 song CD for Charity, donating all the proceeds to the 'Twin Towers Orphan Fund". (Another Christmas CD for Charity followed in 2004 with all the proceeds from " I Can't get enough of Christmas" going to the 'Legacy', Cancer Research). In 2003 I built my own recording stuio "Studio SJ" named after my father with the idea of recording my third album myself. I soon discovered I enjoyed producing other artists and had several projects on the go. Hip Hop artist "Vice", Emo band "Unfair Verona", Folk singer songwriter "John Hazard", and occasioinally MY STUFF!!!! Played drums in the blues/jazz band "4 Bucks 'n' Change, a band lead by singer songwriter "Nick Varano until deciding once again to try and get back to my own music. I currently have enough new songs for at least 2 new albums but am looking for some help mixing my own songs. I'm also working on an album with Nick Varano, 4 songs of which can be heard on the 'Varano & Spence' myspace page. After years of writing and performing many different styles of music, I have finally decided to embrace the songs that the Lord brings to me. Often feeling them to be unlike the kind of music I myself listen to, they are what comes out of deep inside me and I cannot deny them. My aim is to get as many people to listen to them and hopefully some of you will enjoy what I do. Thanks for checking out my music, hope you like it! Peace. Rob. plain layout @ HOT FreeLayouts.com..
