About Me
Hi, I'm Reshef (my Internet nick is Spark). I play the guitar since 1975.
I've been playing in a few (unknown) bands during the years.
Had an electro-acoustic era for several years where I was experimenting with synth modules, sound sampling and MIDI sequencing.
Then a few years went by with practically no playing and zero creativity.
About three years ago, I sort of had a "comeback" to music productivity.
Two years ago I sort of fell in love with the bass to the extent that I believe it should have been my major instrument all those years.
I currently own 6 of them - the Traveler Escape Bass which goes with me at most times and serves mainly for practicing and for acoustic-like sound at home recordings, the Cort Artisan A5 which is my main due to it's versatile tonal options, a defretted Squier P-Bass with a DiMarzio pickup which serves as a fretless, a Dean Pace electric upright bass and 2 Fender Ashbory bass, one red and one black which look like toys but have quite intersting upright-like sound.
Those are far from a professional's arsenal but they do serve my purposes, for the time being ;-)
About a year ago I've got divorced, quit my daily job and decided to concentrate in music, sound and criativity and do it for living. I've developed a unique lifestyle which makes lots of room for creativity. It involves 3 TravelerGuitar instruments, a 4-track palmtop digital recording studio ( Roland MicroBR ) and a flexible schedule in which I go sit at one of my favorite local coffee shops with that portable gear and silently practice on a cup of cappuccino - I plug one of the guitars/bass into the MicroBR, put on my headphones, pick one of the preset Drum&Bass patterns and one of the modeling effects and jam till smoke comes out my fingers. Of course I get looks and inquiries like "Yo! what the hell is this?" but this concept helps me improve my playing skills, come up with new musical ideas and sometimes end up with rather constructed sketches.
Lately you can find me on those coffee shops actually working on projects, editing music with GarageBand or Reaper on my new cute little Apple MacBook.
I'm currently involved in several musical projects:
* Moadon Hanefesh - where I play bass and do vocals.
* Sugar Shuster - where I play bass and soon will also be doing vocals.
* GRaB (Gros, Reshef and Biran) - a trio performing Shalom Hanoch's material, where I play bass, drums and do vocals.
* A few others projects where I compose and edit soundtracks, like - a spiritual holistic musical show, a music CD production, soundtracks for a movies, theater, special events etc.
Some words about the songs on the player above:
Ahava b'Mishlocha - my newest. it's a kind of a prayer to the universe. The lyrics are saying it all.
Forgive me - a collboration with a friend from a Home Studio users forum, a cool young rocker from Canada named Angelo White . I composed the tune and he matched the fine lyrics. Thanks bro'.
Lo Zocher - a sketch recorded entirely at a coffee shop in Tel-Aviv over breakfast using the Roland MicroBR, the Ashbory bass, the Traveler Speedster guitar and my vocal. The lyrics was written by my friend Boaz Gros.
Yukelele Song - an instrumental tune I've composed once while playing my Uke. This my first home recorded song where I play my Roland HD1 drums.
Bassappella - a sketch where all tracks done with the Traveler Escape bass. Myspace friend from Gemany named Jacky Deinhart , an enthusiast singer, collaborated by adding vocals to the sketch. Thanks Jacky.

I enjoy collaborative creativity and always looking for new partners to share mutual creativity with. Please drop me a line if you're willing to collaborate with a non-professional (yet mature and serious) bass/guitar player. Thanks :-)
