I grew up (hardly) all over Georgia. Born in Atlanta, raised in Athens, Brunswick, St. Simon's Island, and Statesboro before hauling ass to Asheville, NC. The Shangrala of the south. Musician from birth and haven't stopped since. Started out on drums when I was 3. Played on my first record At John Keen's place in Athens when I was 9. These days I'm a guitarists, live sound guy and do a bit of work in studios from time to time. I play Strats and a National "Dobro" bottleneck style. My influences are all my old scratchy blues records and guys like David Gilmour and Mark Knopfler. I've tour the eastern states with various bands and artists such as Acoustic Syndicate, Big Blue, Laura Blackley, Bluestring, Dave Desmelik, Greg Hester and others. Played on records with Acoustic Syndicate, Kevin Kinny, Peter Buck and Beth Wood. Been a live sound tech. off and on for 15 years and I still do it as much as I can.
I got a couple projects happening now. When Acoustic Syndicate busted up a few years ago Steve McMurry and I put together a new rock band. It's called Big Blue . Keys, drums, bass, and two guitars. Lots of Little Feet vibe and three part harmony. Look for us. We'll be out on the road off and on.
I also have a mostly acoustic Blues and R&B duo called Junco Partner . Me on Dobro and my co-hort Chris Kew on upright bass. We play around Asheville quite a bit. Lots of old Robert Johnson and Ray Charles and that good old scratchy stuff like that.Yes I'm interested, call me!
