This Is “A-Side 45†Our beginnings can be traced back to a garage band named “Albatross†which was formed in 1992 and came to an abrupt end one year later in 93’. I was the main songwriter and bass player for the band. After the break up of Albatross I went on to play Bass with a Black Gospel Choir named Delegation in 1996 (which I am still a part of). I’ve learned much about music and vocal harmony from the experience. Black Gospel has exposed me in a more intimate way to Jazz, Blues, R & B and Funk melodies and rhythms, although at this point I’m in a rock n’ roll phase, in the near future you’ll hear more of the Jazz/Blues/R&B/Funk side of my musical personality. That brings us up to the present time and the inception of “A-Side 45â€. I had realized that to a degree I had grown tired of musical competition (Much like two opposing teams.) I have always viewed music as a valid art form (whether it’s The Ramones or Mozart) not an organized sport!! I believe anyone who has an artistic endeavor regardless of what it is should be encouraged to pursue it. As artists we should have a symbiotic relationship where we can all flourish in a creative and prosperous environment, an environment where we can shy away from musical snobbery. The point is that everyone is unique, and I believe that uniqueness should be nurtured and celebrated whether it be a complex or simplistic musical form. At this moment “A-Side 45†is mostly my baby (project), but at some point I intend to bring in other musicians. I play Bass Guitar, Rhythm Guitar, Piano and also program all of the drums from scratch (there are no drum loops!) At this point I ask everyone that visits this page to bear with me and keep in mind I’ve yet to record the vocals even though all of the lyrics and vocal melodies are complete. I’m not a recording engineer people! lol!, so I’ve yet to master the art of recording vocals in a quality manner, but the vocals will be up very soon. Now for the secondary part of me that is of little importance, but I feel must be discussed to better understand me. I have Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy which means I am in a wheelchair, M.D. is a disease of the muscles and it puts many limitations on me as a musician. Because of this I’ve focused more on songwriting rather than virtuosic playing. Thank you for stopping by my site, and please feel free to leave a comment or two, in fact I encourage you to do so. I value your opinions and feedback.
