From the day I was born I have been weaned on a steady diet of new wave, 70's rock, psychedelia, punk, alt and indie, industrial, goth, ambient, experimental, underground electronica, electro, techno, trance, downbeat, world, traditional...and damn near anything that turned my head. Late 1970's to the mid 1980's - the years of punkrock, ska and new wave...The bad old days but so much in the way of great music. Set me up for a lifetime of experimentation. Late 1980's - mis-spent years in New York and London freaking out to the industrial and alternative subculture. Got involved with Temple Of Psychic Youth and experimented with my mind! Bizarre Beats...original host on BFM student radio in Auckland in the early 1990's with Mike Rea (ex Nazco and Under Construction). Beach Rd...threw some great early acid/industrial dance raves in the early nineties in my big concrete warehouse. Klamp Klub....resident DJ with Micro at Aucklands hardcore fetish club in Fanshawe St. Cyberculture...created an influential underground electronic and experimental music shop/recording studio/multi-media gallery/internet service in the mid nineties with Mike Weston catering to the needs of those forgotten and ignored by the mainstream media. Soulsonic...another K'Rd musick emporium and a continuation of the electronic excursion. NOW, HERE, TODAY!!...Mutating, growing and evolving. Composing electronic blips, beeps and thumping beats in my studio. Would like to eventually produce electronic and instrumental material in a similar vein to The Neon Judgement, early Wolfgang Press, Einsturzende Neubauten (from late 80's) and even elements of Air and heaps of electronica, electro dance. Also quite like a bit of latin lounge techy soundz eg. The Brazillian Girls and nothing beats some good chilled downtempo and ambient. I have an Aria Pro II bass, Shure condensor mic and am about to purchase a Firebox interface to plug it all in. Also have a Korg ER-1 Rhythmic synth which would sound wicked once I get it patched in. Currently using Garageband on a Mac G5.
