I see your thoughts and.. ugh..

About Me

Blatant plug for local band CovetFinally, after almost every effort (every effort that doesn't involve the expending of energy that is) to resist the call of the dreaded, uhh.. I mean, the lovely, lovely web community that is MySpace, I have succumbed to the urge to paste mundane details purporting to describe my rather insignificant life all over the web. How.. tragic.I edited my page with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4 and damn good it is too. The Nightwish background is "Nightwish is not Dead" by Elisabeth Hiljainen and can be found on DeviantArt .While Your Lips Are Still Red - Tuomas Holopainen & Marco Hietala
Wrestlemania 14 - Undertaker's Entrance

My Interests

Music (listening and playing)(badly), Sports (watching), Films, other couch-related activities such as drinking and reading.Dammit.. Can't make.. banner.. into.. hyperlink. Gaahh. You'll have to use the link from my Top Friends bit.

I'd like to meet:

The Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, a logical woman. Yeah you can see where I'm going with that. Please don't hurt me.Oh and Seth MacFarlane, mainly because I have a sneaking suspicion that many of Stewie Griffin's mannerisms and idioms are based on the UK's mighty dictator, Tony Blair, not least the urge for militaristic world domination.Wouldn't mind meeting Zakk Wylde either although my hair would probably feel threatened and run away.Apart from that.. people who like real music (ie. rock/metal, classical at a push). Bands who feel the urge to include a horribly average guitar/bass player in their line-up. I can sing as well.. earplugs recommended.

Music:

Metal. Heavy, technical, thrash, power, symphonic, various combinations of the above. I also like a bit of death metal, hardcore, metalcore, decent rock music, a tiny little bit of punk.. and some classical/romantic era too. I'm a sucker for Grieg. Guilty pleasure is a bit of decent trance or house music.

Movies:

Hong Kong and Korean cinema. Stupid, big action set-piece, American films. 80's and 90's films like the Lethal Weapon and Batman (first two) series. Mid-to late nineties Adam Sandler films. Almost anything by Kevin Smith (not.. that one.. the horrible one.. the one with.. her.. and her ass..)

Television:

Simpsons, Family Guy, American Dad. Hollyoaks (for the storylines of course), Parky, QI, Have I Got News For You, Mock the Week, Extras and the Office. Reality TV is a cancerous tumour on the testicle of society and must be excised. With a spoon.

Books:

Tolkien stuff(whoa, original!), J.K. Rowling's little novels, Asterix books, most stuff by Tom Clancy, Terry Pratchett, Frederick Forsyth. And Spot The Dog (despite its rather unfortunate acronym)

Heroes:

Myself. Oh alright then.. Musically: Zakk Wylde, Mr Mustaine, Mr Hammett, Herman Li, ZP Theart, Tuomas Holopainen, Emppu Vuorinnen, Tony Kakko, Alexi Laiho, Till Lindemann, The brothers Coyle, Rob Westerholt (you lucky, lucky man).
Generally: Stewie Griffin, Peter Griffin, Brian Griffin (sorry Chris/Seth) and of course Tony Blair.. ::chuckle::

Finns (no Royals in this blog): Part 2 - 27th March

I took another half day for the day of the Nightwish gig. I hadn't previously known the oxford street area of London at all well but thankfully I'd been able to scope out the Astoria and the tube stat...

Finns and Royals - Part 1: 26th of March

The 26th and 27th of March 2008 will go down as very good days in my life. Back in September 2007 I saw somewhere or other that my favourite bunch of Finns (+ 1 Swede), Nightwish, were going on tour t...

A few days worth of bile..

I may have heard the funniest thing ever to be aired on TV the other day. Regarding the Spice Girls comeback tour, someone thought it would be a good idea to interview Victoria Beckham. Now I can thin...

"A silver lining, sir? Thatll be £2m please.."

It's not right to apportion blame to any one party for the disastrous fiasco that has been England's European Cup campaign; it's fair to say that everyone involved has screwed the pooch to a degree fa...
