MUDDSPYDER is a Hard Rock Band from West Texas. MUDDSPYDER has entered the music scene kicking and screaming, pulling no punches and releasing a Hard Rock fury that has not been scene since the late ‘80s. The band is usually compared to Motley Crue and Metallica, Alice in Chains and Black Sabbath, but the difference in our music lies with the gathering of the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s music and meshing these forces with a fresh twist in a stale Rock world – Allowing us to have ‘meat’ that people, fans and friends love. People want to identify with music, lyrics and a cause! The members of MUDDSPYDER know this because of the cd’s and merchandise we sell and sign at each show. The feedback is tremendous with the most common statement from fans being “What the hell are you doing in a dive like this?” MUDDSPYDER is a professional, polished band that can play at the drop of a dime!!
Since then the band has been kicking at the national music scenes door, spinning a web around the hearts of Americans, Asians, Canadians, and Europeans with no intentions of stopping. MUDDSPYDER has climbed the charts online and have had many successful gigs, along with receiving radio play in several areas of the USA.
MEMBERS ------------
Michael is from Austin Texas. After having enough with the joining, leaving and band breakups with musician want to be types. Several bands later, he found himself in Lubbock, Texas. Taking music more seriously, he especially began focusing more toward the business aspect of the band and was able to slowly build a band of individuals that had their act together. “I can’t stand punching this time clock anymore; I wanna rock-n-roll.”

Dave began playing guitar at 15 while growing up in Hot Springs, AR. He began by cutting his teeth on bandssuch as Rush, Styx and Kansas. Later as the 80's progressed, bands like Dokken, Queensryche and Dream Theater bore a style in him that was both melodic and technical. He played in many cover and original bands over the years and even played with a band in Nashville, TN from 2000 to 2001. Dave uses Jackson Soloist guitars, a Digitech RP-12 effects system and a Marshall TSL 2000 amplifier.

The wild card in the band, Brandon, is from Lubbock, Texas. The group considers him the mystery man of the band. Being well versed in music composition, Brandon writes music in his spare time. His love of taking chances shows in his bass style and outrageous personality. Like Brandon says, “Hey, screw ‘em if they can’t take a joke, joke ‘em if they can’t take a screw!”

Playing the drums since age 13, Mick brings professional, live and touring experience to the group. Born in Oklahoma and jamming with bands of several musical genres his true talent and passion for playing the skins shows both live and in the studio.

The name MUDDSPYDER came from an afternoon party. As the day passed on, things became a little more interesting! So interesting, that one of the group’s close friend had reached a point of almost passing out. All of a sudden he was jumping up and shouting, “I got it!” As we all looked up in confusion, he accidentally spilled a little beer in between the crack of a park bench and in the dry dirt below a figure that looked like a spider bubbled up. It stuck! We pondered other names, but always came back to MUDDSPYDER!

The bands first gig was at the Los Carnales biker club on May 14th 2005. The band is currently on the second leg of their ‘CHAINS R BROKEN TOUR’. MUDDSPYDER has risen from a regional act to a national act in six months time and still presses forward to the next level The band enters the music scene with a fresh vision of rock. As Michael sums it up, “We create music that we can play live instead of this new wave of music that can only be produced in a studio and we will not deviate from that.” Collectively the band feels, ”We will not accept being what people want us to be, we’re just a group of guys that love to play and do it our own way in our ‘token time’.” We are in this for the music.
