About Me

I'm a musician and have been since the age of 14. I am the guitarist for the band "Phantom-X" based in Dallas Texas. I am all about progressive power and 80's metal. It is the only rock/metal where musicians actually strived to be the best they could possibly be and stand out in the crowd. Because of this, not only did you know the bands but you knew them by name... George Lynch, Eddie Van Halen, Steve Via, Warren DeMartini, Steve Harris, David Coverdale and Geoff Tate just to name a few... Nothing about modern metal stands out... it all sounds just alike and is played by faceless, no-name, so called musicians. The American record industry turned it's back on talent and signed bands like Nirvana and Weezer. I'll never understand the thought process behind that.

This was taken a couple years ago from the "93.3 The Razor Radio Shred Contest." There was a lot of real talent there, including Greg. Both he and I placed in the finals.

My Interests

Playing, writing, recording, producing, progressive power metal, 80's metal etc... and working out at the gym.

I'd like to meet:

I'm interested in meeting other musicians or ANYONE who has an interest in music. (i.e. - Classic Hard Rock/Metal or Progressive)

Music:

For starters... I detest the way the music industry went after the 80's. All the "non vocal talent, one finger chorded, modern mud rock/metal" the record companies spit out now are pure garbage. I get a lot of my music from all over the world. Bands like - Onmyouza, Nightwish, Agora, Aria, Edguy, Virtuocity, Nocturnal Rites, HammerFall, Evergrey, Ingwie Malmsteen, Dream Theatre, Queensryche, Iron Maiden, Whitesnake, Winger, Avantasia, Masterplan, XYZ, Fifth Angel, Van Halen, Lion, Motley Crue, Cinderella, Anything with good vocal range and musicianship.

Movies:

Most all sci-fi... even old classics like War of the Worlds and Robinson Crusoe on Mars, The Thing, The Lost Boys - (which was one of the best movies to come from the 80's), Uncommon Valor, The Crow, The Breakfast Club, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Lord of the Rings, Dark City, 12 Monkeys, Serenity, Star Trek, (all) and last but not least... Porky's (the funniest movie of all time)
